LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Chassidy David upon the occasion of her
designation as recipient of the 2016 Youth of the Year Award by the
Madison Square Boys & Girls Club

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize and pay
tribute to those young people within the great Empire State who have
made strong contributions to their communities and who serve as role
models for their peers; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Chassidy David upon the occasion of her designation as recipient of the
2016 Youth of the Year Award by the Madison Square Boys & Girls Club;
and
WHEREAS, The Boys & Girls Club's highest honor, the Youth of the Year
Award, recognizes exceptional young men and women for their outstanding
contributions to the community, as well as their perseverance in over-
coming personal challenges and obstacles; these honorees are shining
examples and living proof that great futures start at Boys & Girls
Clubs; and
WHEREAS, A member of the Madison Square Boys & Girls Club for three
years, Chassidy David has served as President of the Keystone Club where
she was instrumental in bridging the gap between members and staff; and
WHEREAS, Furthermore, Chassidy David has also participated in the
Beauty Club, Cultural Arts Program, Youth Empowerment Program, and the
Notes for Notes Music Program; and
WHEREAS, As a member of the Project Graduate Program, Chassidy David
was afforded the opportunity to travel to colleges and universities,
providing her with insight on how to best prepare herself for the tran-
sition from high school to college; and
WHEREAS, This esteemed young woman plans to attend Emerson College in
the fall where she will major in Filmmaking; and
WHEREAS, Chassidy David has been called upon to contribute her time
and talents to countless civic and charitable endeavors and has always
given of herself unstintingly; and
WHEREAS, Poised eagerly with enthusiasm and determined purpose, Chas-
sidy David now stands honorably, with just pride in her accomplishments
and in eager anticipation of future challenges, understanding and appre-
ciating the caring counsel and support provided by her teachers, coaches
and loved ones; and
WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to honor the youth
of today, and leaders of tomorrow, whose character and achievements best
exemplify the ideals and values cherished by this great State and
Nation; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Chassidy David upon the occasion of her designation as recipient
of the 2016 Youth of the Year Award by the Madison Square Boys & Girls
Club; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Chassidy David.
