LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring outgoing-Trustee George Haile for
special recognition after many years of distinguished service to the
North Merrick School District Board of Education
WHEREAS, Individuals who give of their time and energies and serve the
best interests of their communities are an asset beyond remuneration and
cannot be sufficiently extolled; and
WHEREAS, George Haile has given not only of his time and energies but
also of his competence, intelligence and leadership and consequently has
been designated for special honor; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor outgoing-Trus-
tee George Haile for special recognition after many years of distin-
guished service to the North Merrick School District Board of Education;
and
WHEREAS, Affectionately known as Skip, George Haile has been called
upon to contribute his time and talents to countless civic and charita-
ble endeavors and has always given of himself unstintingly; and
WHEREAS, Skip Haile is a product of the North Merrick School system
and the Bellmore Merrick Central High School district, graduating from
Camp Avenue School, Brookside Junior High School, and Sanford H. Calhoun
High School; and
WHEREAS, In his years attending the North Merrick Schools, Skip Haile
enjoyed and benefited from all the district had to offer, participating
in both the arts and school athletics; in 1994, he and his wife
purchased the home he grew up in; and
WHEREAS, Skip Haile attended Manhattanville College where he earned a
degree in Business Administration; and
WHEREAS, Skip Haile is currently a CME Program Manager at Reed Medical
Education, a subsidiary of Reed Elsevier, the largest producer of
medical journals and literature in the United States; his position
includes budget management, securing grant funding both at a national
and local level as well as trade show management; and
WHEREAS, Active within the community, Skip Haile volunteers with
Merrick's youth sports organizations, serving as a coach for numerous
teams and acting as soccer commissioner for both the PAL Travel and
Developmental Programs; and
WHEREAS, Skip Haile's love for the community led him to the North
Merrick School Board, allowing him the opportunity to bring his passion
for the growth and development of Merrick's children to a higher level;
and
WHEREAS, With him throughout have been his wife, Sheila, and their two
children, Nicholas and Cole, all of whom feel privileged to be a part of
his life and rejoice in his achievements; and
WHEREAS, Throughout the entire period of his community service, a
period of constructive involvement, Skip Haile has stood constant in
dignity, good grace and humor; and
WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by an individ-
ual for the benefit of others which Skip Haile has displayed throughout
his life; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when individ-
uals of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our atten-
tion, they should be celebrated and recognized by all the citizens of
this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honoring outgoing-Trustee George Haile for special recognition after
many years of distinguished service to the North Merrick School District
Board of Education; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to outgoing-Trustee George Haile.
