LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commemorating the 30th Anniversary of Starflight,
Inc.

WHEREAS, It is the intent of this Legislative Body to honor and commem-
orate the proud and distinguished histories of organizations which
comprise the noble body of this great Empire State; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to commem-
orate the 30th Anniversary of Starflight, Inc.; and
WHEREAS, In the early days, Starflight, Inc. flew military surplus
Bell UH-1L helicopters in a public servant model; Starflight became a
Part 135 air carrier in 2011, flying state-of-the-art, twin engine, dual
pilot MD 900 Explorers; and
WHEREAS, Most of Starflight's pilots are military trained aviators
with thousands of hours flying; Starflight, Inc. is one of less than 5
percent of the helicopter EMS programs in the country that fly dual
pilot cockpit for every leg of all flights; and
WHEREAS, The medical direction is provided by Emergency Medicine
trained physicians who started as EMTs in local EMS Systems; and
WHEREAS, The medical team of 20 is fully committed, highly skilled and
well trained; about half of the flight nurses are also paramedics and
all are working towards national certifications; and
WHEREAS, Extremely ill and critically injured patients have been flown
towards hope for the past 30 years by the Starflight helicopter medevac;
this prestigious organization has made over 8,000 transports and has
saved countless lives; and
WHEREAS, Starflight, Inc.'s outstanding dedication to the region and
commitment to fulfilling its critical role to area health care coverage
is to be commended; and
WHEREAS, It is the intent of this Legislative Body to publicly recog-
nize and honor milestones in the history of communities large and small
in this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commemorate the 30th Anniversary of Starflight, Inc.; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Starflight, Inc.
