LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commending Rhonda Lyn Roethel upon the occasion
of her retirement after many years of distinguished service to the
United States Postal Service
WHEREAS, It is incumbent upon the people of the State of New York to
recognize and acknowledge those within our midst who have made signif-
icant contributions to the quality of life therein; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to commend Rhonda Lyn
Roethel upon the occasion of her retirement after many years of distin-
guished service to the United States Postal Service; and
WHEREAS, Throughout her tenure as a popular letter carrier in Ogdens-
burg, New York, Rhonda Lyn Roethel efficiently delivered the mail to
businesses and families with a friendly smile; and
WHEREAS, In addition to her career with the United States Postal
Service, Rhonda Lyn Roethel co-founded America Realty 1, and is a part-
ner in NAC Logistics as well as co-owner of Hotzenmore LLC; and
WHEREAS, Rhonda Lyn Roethel devotes her time to a number of charitable
endeavors; she is both a Charter Member and former President of the
Lisbon Lions Club; in these capacities, she has helped organize regional
lumberjack shows, children's carnivals, Polar Bear 5K runs and walks,
and has led the local Lisbon Lions Club effort to adopt soldiers in
Afghanistan; and
WHEREAS, Rhonda Lyn Roethel is a participant in Pro Musica, and plays
percussion and provides vocals for New York State Fiddle Champion Don
Woodcock; and
WHEREAS, Furthermore, Rhonda Lyn Roethel is a vital member of both the
Ogdensburg Oktoberfest Committee, and was involved in the relighting of
the Ogdensburg Harbor Lighthouse, as well as serving as a fundraiser for
the Seaway Festival; and
WHEREAS, In 2013, Rhonda Lyn Roethel was named a Woman of Distinction
for her tireless work making her hometown of Ogdensburg, New York, a
better place to live; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that those who
enhance the quality of life in their community and have shown a long and
sustained commitment to the maintenance of high standards in their
profession, certainly have earned the recognition and applause of all
the citizens of this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend Rhonda Lyn Roethel upon the occasion of her retirement after
many years of distinguished service to the United States Postal Service;
and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Rhonda Lyn Roethel.
