LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commemorating the 50th Anniversary of Superior
Auto Sales

WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to recognize the
important milestones in those businesses within the State of New York
which have contributed to the economic health and vitality of the commu-
nities they serve; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to commem-
orate the 50th Anniversary of Superior Auto Sales; and
WHEREAS, For the past 50 years, Superior Auto Sales of Hamburg, New
York, has proudly offered quality products and outstanding service to
its customers; and
WHEREAS, Superior Auto Sales is an independent dealership, selling the
finest automobiles; the Izzo family has a love for automobiles, which
dates back to 1938, when Richard J. Izzo's father, Nicholas, started
Prospect Automotive on the West Side of Buffalo, New York; and
WHEREAS, In 1966, Richard J. Izzo opened Hamburg Chrysler Motors,
formerly Henny Motors, in Hamburg; on May 19, 1969, he broke ground at
5201 Camp Road in Hamburg, to open Superior Pontiac; after closing the
franchise, he started buying quality used vehicles and renamed his busi-
ness Superior Auto Sales, a qualified dealership, selling new and used
vehicles; and
WHEREAS, Today, Richard J. Izzo's sons, Rick and Nick help run this
successful enterprise; Rick and Nick enjoy buying hard-to-find vehicles
which sell quickly, including economy, sports cars, SUVs, trucks and
luxury brands; and
WHEREAS, Throughout the years, Superior Auto Sales has become a trust-
ed source for multiple generations of Western New York families who have
come to appreciate this remarkable company's caring concern and atten-
tion to detail; and
WHEREAS, Under the luminous guidance of Richard J. Izzo, Rick Izzo and
Nick Izzo, Superior Auto Sales remains committed to offering the finest
service and products to the Hamburg area and beyond for many years to
come; and
WHEREAS, The success of Superior Auto Sales over the years is in
direct correlation to the efforts of its management and staff, whose
involvement is, and always has been, characterized by an impressive
commitment, an unbridled enthusiasm, and an uncompromising standard of
excellence in all endeavors on behalf of the company and the community
it serves; and
WHEREAS, It is with great pleasure that this Legislative Body acknowl-
edges this exceptional business and its contributions to the local and
State economies, fully confident it will continue to enjoy the sparkling
successes it has experienced thus far; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commemorate the 50th Anniversary of Superior Auto Sales; and be it
further
RESOLVED, That copies of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Richard J. Izzo, Rick Izzo, and Nick Izzo, Owners, Superior
Auto Sales.
