LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commending Karen Brown upon the occasion of her
designation for special recognition by the 2014 SULLIVAN COUNTY DEMOCRAT
honoring Professional Women and Women in Business

WHEREAS, Individuals who give of their time and energies and serve the
best interests of their communities are an asset beyond remuneration and
cannot be sufficiently extolled; and
WHEREAS, Karen Brown has given not only of her time and energies but
also of her competence, intelligence and leadership and consequently has
been designated for special honor; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to commend Karen Brown
upon the occasion of her designation for special recognition by the 2014
SULLIVAN COUNTY DEMOCRAT honoring Professional Women and Women in Busi-
ness; and
WHEREAS, For eight years, Karen Brown has been an employee of Glick
Auto Truck Center in Monticello, New York, and currently serves as
Administrator and Sales; and
WHEREAS, Prior to her current position, Karen Brown has served the
Center as Receptionist and Title Clerk; and
WHEREAS, The most rewarding aspect of Karen Brown's job is Arthur
Glick, a supportive and inspirational boss who gives professional
advice; and
WHEREAS, Karen Brown's favorite on-the-job moment was when she
received an accolade after selling her first car from a customer who
praised her for a job well done; and
WHEREAS, This exceptional woman lives by the motto "Do unto others, as
you would have them do unto you"; and
WHEREAS, When she's not working, Karen Brown enjoys spending time with
her children and family; and
WHEREAS, With her throughout have been her two sons, Jimmy and Nicho-
las, and her mother, Shirley, as well as one brother, Lawrence, all of
whom feel privileged to be a part of her life and rejoice in her
achievements; and
WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by an individ-
ual for the benefit of others which Karen Brown has displayed throughout
her life; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that those who
enhance the quality of life in their community and have shown a long and
sustained commitment to the maintenance of high standards in their
profession, certainly have earned the recognition and applause of all
the citizens of this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend Karen Brown upon the occasion of her designation for special
recognition by the 2014 SULLIVAN COUNTY DEMOCRAT honoring Professional
Women and Women in Business; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Karen Brown.
