LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Susan Kraycer upon the occasion of her
designation as recipient of a Women in Rotary Award by the Liberty Rota-
ry Club on April 10, 2016
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize that the
quality and character of life in the communities of New York State are
reflective of the concerned and dedicated efforts of those who distin-
guish themselves in their profession and in service to their community;
and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Susan Kraycer upon the occasion of her designation as recipient of a
Women in Rotary Award by the Liberty Rotary Club, to be celebrated at
its Women in Rotary Day Brunch and Auction on Sunday, April 10, 2016;
and
WHEREAS, Rotary International is dedicated to the development of
fellowship and understanding among business and professional leaders,
the promotion of community-betterment endeavors and of high standards in
business and professional practices, and the advancement of interna-
tional understanding, goodwill and peace; and
WHEREAS, Each year, the Rotary Club of Liberty proudly honors individ-
uals who exemplify those principles of exemplary community service;
Susan Kraycer truly merits such recognition; and
WHEREAS, While employed at a local accounting firm, Susan Kraycer
decided to elevate herself and her family by attending college to become
an accountant; she attended night school at Mount St. Mary College, two
to four nights a week, and graduated from her program Magna Cum Laude
while raising three children and working full time; and
WHEREAS, In 2000, Susan Kraycer became a partner at Cooper Nieman
Accounting proving the grit she possesses and the determination she puts
into everything she does; and
WHEREAS, Susan Kraycer joined the Liberty Rotary Club with the inten-
tion of using it as a networking opportunity; she stayed with Rotary
because of the high caliber of programming the group offered; and
WHEREAS, In her 16 years of Rotary service, Susan Kraycer has been the
Club's liaison for Polio Plus; in this capacity, she chaired the Polio
Plus Dinner Committees and served on the Polio Committee every year
since its inception; and
WHEREAS, A graduate of The Rotary Leadership Institute, Susan Kraycer
represents the Liberty Rotary Club regularly at District and Regional
Rotary events; and
WHEREAS, A tremendous advocate for youth, the community, and those in
need, Susan Kraycer currently serves on the Haiti Water Project Commit-
tee and is associated with the Committee's partners, Archangel Airborne;
and
WHEREAS, On a local level, Susan Kraycer is a voice of reason and a
great force that moves the Liberty Rotary Club forward; and
WHEREAS, This esteemed woman assists at virtually every event that
Liberty Rotary Club sponsors, supports, or in which it participates,
such as the Spaghetti Dinner, the local Heart-A-Thon, community dinners
for the needy, speaking on the radio to promote fundraisers, bringing in
guest speakers, a myriad of fundraisers and much more; and
WHEREAS, Susan Kraycer is the proud recipient of numerous awards and
accolades including the Paul Harris Fellow Award, Rotary International's
highest honor; and
WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by an individ-
ual for the benefit of others which Susan Kraycer has displayed through-
out her life; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when individ-
uals of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our atten-
tion, they should be celebrated and recognized by all the citizens of
this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Susan Kraycer upon the occasion of her designation as recipient of
a Women in Rotary Award by the Liberty Rotary Club on April 10, 2016,
and to wish her continued success in all of her future endeavors; and be
it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Susan Kraycer.
