LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commending Lieutenant Colonel Anne Maker upon the
occasion of her retirement after more than 40 years of dedicated service
to the New York Air National Guard

WHEREAS, It is incumbent upon the people of the State of New York to
recognize those remarkable individuals who honorably and courageously
serve their country in order to protect the life and liberty of our
citizens, and whose military service, professional lives, and civic
endeavors serve to enhance the stature of this great Empire State; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to commend
Lieutenant Colonel Anne Maker upon the occasion of her retirement after
more than 40 years of dedicated service to the New York Air National
Guard; and
WHEREAS, A graduate of Greenport High School, Greenport, New York,
Anne Maker proudly served her country as a member of the Medical Service
Corps in the United States Air Force, where she was deployed to Bosnia,
Qatar, and Afghanistan; her last deployment was in 2013; and
WHEREAS, As a member of the Medical Service Corps, Lieutenant Colonel
Anne Maker was a vital part of the Aeromedical Evacuation System which
was instrumental in getting injured troops the imperative care they
needed; and
WHEREAS, After active duty, Lieutenant Colonel Anne Maker worked at
the 106th Rescue Wing, New York Air National Guard in Westhampton Beach,
New York; at the age of 61, she officially retired from this position on
April 27, 2016; and
WHEREAS, Throughout her illustrious career, Anne Maker rose through
the ranks, from Master Sergeant to Lieutenant Colonel; an exceptional
student, she was named an Honor Graduate for her military training
instructor class; and
WHEREAS, Lieutenant Colonel Anne Maker fondly recalls meeting and
working with people all over the world and as an instructor, she enjoyed
mentoring young recruits and basic trainees; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to acknowledge the
significant milestones in the distinguished careers of esteemed resi-
dents of this noble Empire State; and
WHEREAS, Individuals who dedicate their lives to military service
merit the commendation and applause of all citizens for their commitment
to the preservation of American freedom; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend Lieutenant Colonel Anne Maker upon the occasion of her retire-
ment after more than 40 years of dedicated service to the New York Air
National Guard; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Lieutenant Colonel Anne Maker.
