LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Michele Ladd upon the occasion of her
designation as recipient of the 2016 Patriot of the Year Award by The
Reverend Paul J. Cuddy Assembly of the Knights of Columbus on May 21st,
2016
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize that the
quality and character of life in the communities across New York State
are reflective of the concerned and dedicated efforts of those organiza-
tions and individuals who devote themselves to the welfare of the commu-
nity and its citizenry; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Michele Ladd upon the occasion of her designation as recipient of the
2016 Patriot of the Year Award by The Reverend Paul J. Cuddy Assembly of
the Knights of Columbus at its Awards Dinner on Saturday, May 21st,
2016, at Webster Columbus Center, Webster, New York; and
WHEREAS, Heroes Home Advantage is a real estate rebate program for
those that protect, serve and care for our country and community; this
vital program helps our heroes save money when buying, selling or refi-
nancing a home; and
WHEREAS, As the CEO and Founder of Heroes Home Advantage, Michele Ladd
has continually demonstrated extreme competence, extraordinary intelli-
gence and diligent leadership in her unwavering service to her community
and consequently has been designated for this most prestigious commenda-
tion; and
WHEREAS, Born and raised in Livonia, New York, Michele Ladd is the
proud daughter of a Lieutenant Commander of the United States Navy; and
WHEREAS, In 1996, Michele Ladd began her luminous real estate career;
in 2010, she received her New York State Real Estate Broker License and
founded Ladd Exclusive Agency, Realtors; and
WHEREAS, Michele Ladd has been called upon to contribute her time and
talents to countless civic and charitable endeavors and has always given
of herself unstintingly; and
WHEREAS, As the mother of a United States Combat Marine in the Iraq
Theater and, a United States Navy Sailor, coupled with her real estate
background, Michele Ladd established Heroes Home Advantage in 2011; and
WHEREAS, Through this exceptional program, active, former, retired and
reserve members of the United States Army, the United States Air Force,
the United States Marine Corps, the United States Navy, the United
States Coast Guard and all military branches of the United States
Reserves have received assistance in selling, buying or refinancing
their homes; and
WHEREAS, In addition, law enforcement officers of the Rochester Police
Department, the Monroe County Sheriff's Office, Monroe County Police
Departments, Ontario County Sheriff's Office, Genesee County Sheriff's
Office, Border Patrol; firemen of the Rochester Fire Department, Monroe
County Fire Departments, Ontario County Fire Departments; first respon-
ders from Mercy Flight, Monroe County Ambulance departments; health care
providers from Unity Health Hospital, U of R Health Facility; and teach-
ers from Monroe County School Districts; as well as various organiza-
tions including Rochester Veteran's Outreach Center, Richard's House
Veterans Homeless Shelter, Monroe and Ontario County Veteran's Adminis-
tration, Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR), United States
Department of Defense, NY Warrior Alliance, One TEAM One FIGHT, Marine
Corp Coordinating Council, Army Strong Community Center, One Soldier at
a Time, and Badge of Honor Association, as well as Meals on Wheels have
also benefitted from this exceptional program; and
WHEREAS, Today, Heroes Home Advantage is comprised of over 700 real-
tors, lenders, home inspectors, attorneys, title companies, restaurants,
home insurance companies, movers and more in over 40 states; and
WHEREAS, Through Michele Ladd's extraordinary efforts, significant
funds and discounts have been distributed to participants in Heroes Home
Advantage; and
WHEREAS, Dedicated to the heroes of her community, Michele Ladd and
her team deliver meals to the local hero departments every day during
the Heroes Appreciation Month in May, and over the past three years have
delivered more than 3,000 meals to thank our local heroes for their
services; she also encourages her 700 partners across the country to do
the same every year; and
WHEREAS, Deeply committed to helping veterans across the country,
Michele Ladd has helped raise funds for the Veterans Outreach Center,
the Heart of God for Haiti and the Richards House Veterans Homeless
Shelter; and
WHEREAS, Throughout the entire period of her community service, a
period of constructive involvement, Michele Ladd has stood constant in
dignity, good grace and humor; and
WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by an individ-
ual for the benefit of others which Michele Ladd has displayed through-
out her life; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that those who
enhance the quality of life in their community and have shown a long and
sustained commitment to the maintenance of high standards in their
profession certainly have earned the recognition and applause of all the
citizens of this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Michele Ladd upon the occasion of her designation as recipient of
the 2016 Patriot of the Year Award by The Reverend Paul J. Cuddy Assem-
bly of the Knights of Columbus on May 21st, 2016; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Michele Ladd, CEO and Founder of Heroes Home Advantage.
