LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring the Reverend Thomas P. Mull upon the
occasion of his designation as recipient of the Sharing the Light Award
by the Catholic Charities of the Finger Lakes on June 16th, 2016
WHEREAS, Individuals who give of their time and energies and serve the
best interests of their communities are an asset beyond remuneration and
cannot be sufficiently extolled; and
WHEREAS, Reverend Thomas P. Mull has given not only of his time and
energies but also of his competence, intelligence and leadership and
consequently has been designated for special honor; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Reverend
Thomas P. Mull upon the occasion of his designation as recipient of the
Sharing the Light Award by the Catholic Charities of the Finger Lakes on
Thursday, June 16th, 2016, at Hobart and William Colleges, Geneva, New
York; and
WHEREAS, Reverend Thomas P. Mull has been called upon to contribute
his time and talents to countless civic and charitable endeavors and has
always given of himself unstintingly; and
WHEREAS, Born in Waterloo, New York, to Russell and Elizabeth Mull,
Thomas P. Mull attended St. Mary's School and was a member of the Class
of 1967 at DeSales High School in Geneva; he went on to continue his
education at St. John Fisher College and St. Bernard Seminary; he has
also done graduate work at the University of Notre Dame; and
WHEREAS, Reverend Thomas P. Mull has served the parishes of St.
Andrew, St. Ambrose, and Sacred Heart Cathedral in Rochester, New York,
as well as St. Mary's in Canandaigua, and St. Bridget's in Bloomfield;
he was also the Director of the Office of Liturgy for the Diocese of
Rochester from 1982 to 1994; and
WHEREAS, A true asset to his communities, Reverend Thomas P. Mull has
served on the Board of Trustees of Thompson Health, and the Board of
Directors of St. Francis Housing; he has been the Presider of the TV
Mass, the Diocesan liaison to the Nocturnal Adoration Society and the
Chaplain for the School of the Holy Childhood; and
WHEREAS, Reverend Thomas P. Mull has been the recipient of numerous
awards and accolades including the Non-Rotarian of the Year Award and
the Paul Harris Award by the Rotary Club, as well as the TV-l0 Public
Service Award and the John Peter Medaille Award from the Monroe County
Catholic Schools; and
WHEREAS, With him throughout have been his eight siblings, George,
John, Mary, Catherine, Margaret, Barbara, Joseph and William, as well as
his 31 nieces and nephews, all of whom feel privileged to be a part of
his life and rejoice in his achievements; and
WHEREAS, Throughout the entire period of his community service, a
period of constructive involvement, Reverend Thomas P. Mull has stood
constant in dignity, good grace and humor; and
WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by individuals
for the benefit of others which Reverend Thomas P. Mull has displayed
throughout his life; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor the Reverend Thomas P. Mull upon the occasion of his designation
as recipient of the Sharing the Light Award by the Catholic Charities of
the Finger Lakes on June 16th, 2016; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to the Reverend Thomas P. Mull.
