LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION congratulating Director Justin Glodich and the
Eldred Key Elements upon the occasion of their designation for special
recognition for their performance at Carnegie Hall on March 29, 2015

WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to recognize the
dedication and commitment of our young people who distinguish themselves
through excellence in musical competition; and
WHEREAS, Music competition provides an opportunity for students to
exhibit their practical skills to an audience, thereby giving them a
sense of pride in their hard work and efforts; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to congratulate the
Eldred Key Elements upon the occasion of their designation for special
recognition for their performance at Carnegie Hall on March 29, 2015;
and
WHEREAS, The Eldred Key Elements, under the luminous direction of
Justin Glodich, are students in grades 7-12 from the Eldred Central
School District in Eldred, New York, who auditioned for this a cappella
group; and
WHEREAS, Since its inception in 2010, the vocalists of the Eldred Key
Elements have performed at many local events, and, for the past three
years, hosted the Sullivan County A Cappella Night; and
WHEREAS, In May of 2014, the Eldred Key Elements had the opportunity
to work with Deke Sharon, the godfather of contemporary a cappella in
Orange County; he is also the Executive Producer of NBC's "The Sing
Off," and a renowned vocal arranger; and
WHEREAS, The Eldred Key Elements will be joining a cappella groups and
choirs from across the United States, Canada, and Australia, as well as
film stars Shelley Regner and Kelley Jakle, to participate in "Total
Vocal: An Afternoon of A Cappella Music with Deke Sharon"; in addition,
some of the students were selected as soloists; and
WHEREAS, Director Justin Glodich currently holds the position of
Choral and Theatre Director for grades pre-kindergarten through 12th
grade at Eldred Central School; he is also responsible for five choral
groups, and is the Director of the Performing Arts Club; and
WHEREAS, Director Justin Glodich serves as the New York Chapter Presi-
dent of the A Cappella Education Association, and has previously served
as a member of the Executive Board for the Sullivan County Music Educa-
tors Association; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to commend those
musical instructors within our schools who distinguish themselves
through their ability to inspire their students to achieve excellence in
musical performance; and
WHEREAS, Each young musician in our schools is deserving of his or her
own recognition and spotlight, for their remarkable commitment and hours
of practice in perfecting their musical abilities; and
WHEREAS, Music study is most worthy of being encouraged and promoted,
as it provides an opportunity for students to exhibit their skills to an
audience, thereby giving them self-esteem to last a lifetime; now,
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
congratulate the Eldred Key Elements upon the occasion of their desig-
nation for special recognition for their performance at Carnegie Hall on
March 29, 2015; and be it further
RESOLVED, That copies of this Resolution, suitably engrossed be trans-
mitted to Director Justin Glodich and the Eldred Key Elements.
