LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Eric Larsen upon the occasion of his
designation as recipient of the 2015 Distinguished Citizen Award by the
Chenango District Baden-Powell Council, Boy Scouts of America

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to acknowledge
outstanding individuals whose professional lives, personal endeavors and
community service are an example and inspiration to their colleagues,
friends, and family; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Eric
Larsen upon the occasion of his designation as recipient of the 2015
Distinguished Citizen Award by the Chenango District Baden-Powell Coun-
cil, Boy Scouts of America to be celebrated at its 30th Annual Award
Banquet on Thursday, May 14, 2015, at the Canasawacta Country Club in
Norwich, New York; and
WHEREAS, A prominent member of his community, Eric Larsen has helped
to advance many worthwhile projects by bringing together disparate
interests in a spirit of working together for a common good; and
WHEREAS, Eric Larsen graduated from Norwich High School in 1974, and
completed his bachelor's degree at Hartwick College in 1978; upon his
return to Norwich, he worked for his father's real estate management
business, and helped grow and expand the company; and
WHEREAS, Eric Larsen has been called upon to contribute his time and
talents to countless civic and charitable endeavors, and has always
given of himself unstintingly; he served as President on the Chenango
County Council of Arts and Norwich YMCA Board of Directors, and was a
founding member and President of the Norwich Dollars for Scholars Chap-
ter; and
WHEREAS, Furthermore, Eric Larsen has been a member of the Chenango
Memorial Hospital Foundation Board, and was also part of the Chenango
County 2020 Commission, the Chenango County Bicentennial Committee, and
the first Leadership Chenango Class; and
WHEREAS, An integral part of numerous community projects, Eric Larsen
was instrumental in the construction and renovation of the center city
parks; he has also led the Chenango Blues Festival for over 23 years;
and
WHEREAS, Eric Larsen has been the recipient of numerous accolades for
his outstanding service including the Harry Tecklenberg Leadership
Award, the United Way Volunteer of the Year Award, the Community Plan-
ning Leadership Award, and the Arts Council's Business/Arts Enhancement
Award; and
WHEREAS, With him throughout have been his loving wife of 31 years,
Pam, and their four children, Carrie, Lindsey, Rachel, and Alex, as well
as two grandchildren, Sophia and Madeline, all of whom feel privileged
to be a part of his life and rejoice in his achievements; and
WHEREAS, Throughout the entire period of his professional and communi-
ty service, a period of constructive involvement, Eric Larsen has stood
constant in dignity, good grace and humor, and has earned the respect
and admiration of his colleagues, family and friends; and
WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by an individ-
ual for the benefit of others which Eric Larsen has displayed throughout
his life; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Eric Larsen upon the occasion of his designation as the recipient
of the 2015 Distinguished Citizen Award by the Chenango District Baden-
Powell Council, Boy Scouts of America; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Eric Larsen.
