LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Teresa Ferlito upon the occasion of her
retirement after 15 years of distinguished service as Oswego Health Vice
President and Chief Operating Officer of Springside at Seneca Hill

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to acknowledge the
significant milestones in the distinguished careers of esteemed resi-
dents of this noble Empire State; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Teresa Ferlito upon the occasion of her retirement after 15 years of
distinguished service as Oswego Health Vice President and Chief Operat-
ing Officer of Springside at Seneca Hill; she officially retired on
April 30, 2015; and
WHEREAS, For the past 15 years, Teresa Ferlito rendered faithful,
conscientious and valuable service while introducing premier retirement
living to the community as Oswego Health Vice President and Chief Oper-
ating Officer of Springside at Seneca Hill; and
WHEREAS, This remarkable woman has been an integral part of the
success of Springside at Seneca Hill ever since the first shovel of dirt
was turned; she has worked tirelessly to build Springside into the
premier retirement community as evidenced by the caring and special
relationships she has forged with residents; and
WHEREAS, When the Springside at Seneca Hill facility first opened in
April 2000, there were five residents the first week; today, the facili-
ty consistently enjoys an occupancy rate of 95 percent or higher each
year; and
WHEREAS, In her capacity as Oswego Health Vice President and Chief
Operating Officer, Teresa Ferlito has helped make Springside not just a
place to live, but a lifestyle which promotes physical and mental
health; there are also programs offered by SUNY Oswego professors, regu-
lar quality entertainment, exercise classes, and healthy meals served
nightly; and
WHEREAS, In her official acts, Teresa Ferlito was governed by a keen
sense of duty and always showed a unique grasp of human problems; she
has built a sense of community for retirees, and earned the admiration,
esteem and affection of those with whom she has served; and
WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the occurrence of such a compassionate blend-
ing of strength, leadership, intellect, and commitment which Teresa
Ferlito has displayed over a lifetime of sacrifice and dedication to
others; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Teresa Ferlito upon the occasion of her retirement after 15 years
of distinguished service as Oswego Health Vice President and Chief Oper-
ating Officer of Springside at Seneca Hill; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Teresa Ferlito.
