LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commending Jody Siegle, Executive Director of the
Monroe County School Boards Association, upon the occasion of her
retirement after more than 15 years of distinguished service to the
Monroe County community
WHEREAS, The quality and character of life in this Nation, and the great
State of New York, is reflective of the purposeful lives and good works
of those civic-minded community members who dedicate their lives and
careers to the service of others; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body seeks to acknowledge those individuals
whose professional lives and civic endeavors serve to enhance the stat-
ure of this noble Empire State; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to commend
Jody Siegle, Executive Director of the Monroe County School Boards Asso-
ciation, upon the occasion of her retirement after more than 15 years of
distinguished service to the Monroe County community; and
WHEREAS, Jody Siegle earned a degree in Communication Arts from
Cornell University, Ithaca, New York; and
WHEREAS, From 1988-2001, Jody Siegle was a member of the Brighton
Central School District Board of Education, holding the position of
Vice-President for two years, and President for three additional years;
and
WHEREAS, In 1998, Jody Siegle produced the television documentary
SCHOOL DAYS: A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A TEACHER at WXXI, Rochester, New
York; this eye-opening program followed three elementary school teachers
in different communities, rural, suburban, and urban, through one full
day of their lives; and
WHEREAS, Jody Siegle began her tenure as Executive Director of the
Monroe County School Boards Association (MCSBA) in January of 2001;
prior to holding this title, she previously served as President, Vice-
President, and Monroe County Representative to the Commissioner's Advi-
sory Council of School Board Members, as well as a Chair and member of
numerous committees; and
WHEREAS, Moreover, Jody Siegle was a founding Trustee and the current
Chairperson of the Brighton Education Fund; she has also worked with
several local school districts advising them about establishing educa-
tion foundations; and
WHEREAS, The recipient of numerous awards and accolades for her
outstanding service to the Brighton community, Jody Siegle received the
New York State PTA Distinguished Service Award, the Genesee Valley Asso-
ciation for Supervision and Curriculum Service Award, and the Brighton
Chamber of Commerce Individual Community Service Award; and
WHEREAS, This remarkable woman has been involved with the Brighton
Parent Teacher Student Association, serving as a presenter for 22 years
at their annual Festival of Ideas; in 1997, she received their Life
Membership Award; and
WHEREAS, With her throughout have been her husband, and three chil-
dren, all of whom feel privileged to be a part of her life and rejoice
in her achievements; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when individ-
uals of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our atten-
tion, they should be celebrated and recognized by all the citizens of
the great State of New York; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend Jody Siegle, Executive Director of the Monroe County School
Boards Association, upon the occasion of her retirement and to wish her
the best of luck in all of her future endeavors; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Jody Siegle.
