LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Murphy's Automotive Solutions upon the
occasion of its designation as recipient of the 2015 Small Business
Excellence Award by Operation Oswego County on May 11, 2015.

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize those
small businesses within the State of New York which contribute to the
economic health and vitality of the communities they serve; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Murphy's Automotive Solutions upon the occasion of its designation as
recipient of the 2015 Small Business Excellence Award by Operation Oswe-
go County, celebrated at the United States Small Business Adminis-
tration's Annual Awards Luncheon on Monday, May 11, 2015, at the Double
Tree Hotel, East Syracuse, New York; and
WHEREAS, Every year since 1963, the President of the United States has
issued a proclamation announcing National Small Business Week, which
recognizes the critical contributions of America's entrepreneurs and
small business owners; and
WHEREAS, More than half of Americans either own or work for a small
business, and they create about two out of every three new jobs in the
United States each year; and
WHEREAS, Small businesses are selected for the Excellence Awards based
on their company's longevity, innovation, sales growth, increased
employment, ability to overcome adversity or community contributions;
Murphy's Automotive Solutions is one such remarkable business; and
WHEREAS, After his retirement, Timothy Murphy and his son Brian, a
certified mechanic, opened Murphy's Automotive Solutions, a full service
automotive repair shop, and an approved NAPA Auto Care Center; and
WHEREAS, Operated with state-of-the-art equipment, Murphy's Automotive
Solutions strives to make its customers satisfied with the work done on
their vehicle, and make them feel like a member of the family; and
WHEREAS, After just one year, Murphy's Automotive Solutions has grown
enough to hire an additional mechanic; in the future, two additional
bays will be added to this thriving business; and
WHEREAS, Small businesses such as Murphy's Automotive Solutions exert
a strong, positive influence on the communities they serve and are a
crucial element in the economy of New York State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, It is with great pleasure that this Legislative Body
acknowledges Murphy's Automotive Solutions' success, recognizes its
contributions to the local and State economies, and extends its highest
commendation to the company and its employees, fully confident that, in
its future, it will enjoy the same sparkling success which has so char-
acterized its past; and be it further
RESOLVED, That copies of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Timothy Murphy and Brian Murphy, Co-Owners, Murphy's Automo-
tive Solutions.
