LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION memorializing Governor Andrew M. Cuomo to
proclaim June 21-27, 2015, as Family Physicians Week in the State of New
York
WHEREAS, The annual observance of Family Physicians Week provides an
opportunity for the people of the Empire State to recognize the vital
contributions of the family physicians who practice in communities large
and small throughout New York; and
WHEREAS, The New York State Academy of Family Physicians represents
more than 6,000 board-certified family physicians, residents and medical
students who are dedicated to the primary care of the family as a whole;
and
WHEREAS, The Academy's mission is to advance the art and science of
medicine to improve the health and well-being of patients and families;
and
WHEREAS, The Academy will hold their 67th Annual Congress of Delegates
in Albany, New York, June 27-28, 2015; and
WHEREAS, It is appropriate for the citizens of New York State to
recognize the members of the New York State Academy of Family Physicians
as they gather to renew their pledge to medicine and to families; they
exemplify the highest tradition of the family doctor and the dedication,
compassion and skill which are the hallmarks of their profession; now,
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
memorialize Governor Andrew M. Cuomo to proclaim June 21-27, 2015, as
Family Physicians Week in the State of New York; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to The Honorable Andrew M. Cuomo, Governor of the State of New
York.
