LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION mourning the death of Robert "Bob" Rosenkrans,
distinguished citizen and devoted member of his community

WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to pay tribute to
citizens of the State of New York whose lifework and civic endeavor
served to enhance the quality of life in their communities and the great
State of New York; and
WHEREAS, Robert "Bob" Rosenkrans of Seneca Falls, New York, died on
February 12, 2015, at the age of 68; and
WHEREAS, Born in Lansing, Michigan, on September 29, 1946, Robert
"Bob" Rosenkrans, affectionately known as "Bob," was the son of the late
John and Margaret Rosenkrans; at the young age of seven, he moved with
his family to Seneca Falls; and
WHEREAS, Robert "Bob" Rosenkrans graduated from Mynderse Academy and
attended Baldwin Wallace College in Berea, Ohio, where he earned Bach-
elor's degrees in both History and Finance; and
WHEREAS, After graduating from college, "Bob" Rosenkrans accepted a
position with the Royce and Rosenkrans Insurance Company; and
WHEREAS, During an illustrious career which spanned 40 years, "Bob"
Rosenkrans rendered faithful, conscientious and valuable service and
eventually became owner of the company; and
WHEREAS, "Bob" Rosenkrans distinguished himself in his profession and
by his sincere dedication and substantial contributions to the welfare
of his community; and
WHEREAS, "Bob" Rosenkrans' commitment to excellence and his spirit of
humanity, carried over into all fields of enterprise, including charita-
ble and civic endeavors; and
WHEREAS, A member of numerous local and state organizations and
committees, "Bob" Rosenkrans served most notably with the Seneca County
Industrial Development Agency, where he passionately believed in working
to support its mission of thoughtfully growing the region's economy and
job opportunities; and
WHEREAS, "Bob" Rosenkrans' many lifelong interests included European
and American history, travel, finance and investment and reading often
several books a week; he also raised Hereford cattle for several decades
and was an avid sports fan, especially for his beloved Detroit Tigers;
and
WHEREAS, A devoted family man, "Bob" Rosenkrans was adored and
respected by his family members for his fervent belief in fairness, as
well as his generosity, keen sense of humor and ardent work ethic; and
WHEREAS, Predeceased by his eldest child, Michael Rosenkrans, Robert
Rosenkrans is survived by his wife, Maureen "Reenie" Rosenkrans; his two
children, Amy (Robert), and Jeffrey; three step-children, Mark (Chris-
tine), Sandra, and Jill (Greg); three grandchildren, Gavin, Dylan, and
Zachary; and his four siblings, Jane, Ruth (Russell), Peter (Pamela),
and Eric (Frances); as well as several nieces and nephews; and
WHEREAS, Armed with a humanistic spirit and imbued with a sense of
compassion, "Bob" Rosenkrans leaves behind a legacy which will long
endure the passage of time and will remain as a comforting memory to all
he served and befriended; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
mourn the death of Robert "Bob" Rosenkrans, distinguished citizen and
devoted member of his community; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to the family of Robert "Bob" Rosenkrans.
