LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commemorating the 90th Anniversary of Sacred
Heart School of Bayside, Queens on November 7, 2014

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize and
commend those institutions of true purpose and high achievement whose
exemplary programs and accomplishments clearly demonstrate an enduring
pursuit of excellence in the education of the youth of this noble Empire
State; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to commem-
orate the 90th Anniversary of Sacred Heart School of Bayside, Queens;
this auspicious occasion was celebrated with a Dinner Dance on Friday,
November 7, 2014, in Great Neck, New York; and
WHEREAS, Sacred Heart School of Bayside is a faith filled Catholic
community dedicated to the spiritual, intellectual, emotional and social
development of its students; it offers a rigorous academic program in a
family oriented and vibrant atmosphere; and
WHEREAS, An integral part of the community since 1924, this esteemed
educational institution with a student body from pre-kindergarten class-
es to 8th grade, strives to create an atmosphere of Catholic spirit and
commitment; and
WHEREAS, Throughout the years, Sacred Heart School of Bayside has
graduated tens of thousands of students; one of its most famous alumni
is Paul LeClerc, former President of the New York City Public Library;
and
WHEREAS, Today, Sacred Heart School of Bayside's tradition of academic
excellence continues; for the past two years, its students represented
New York State at the National History Day Competition; and
WHEREAS, Accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and
Schools, Sacred Heart School of Bayside is ably led by Principal Dennis
Farrell, an outstanding educator with 25 years of experience guiding
students to a quality education; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is very pleased to have this opportu-
nity to salute Sacred Heart School of Bayside for its long history of
purposeful endeavor which has greatly benefited the community of Queens,
New York, and to wish this worthy organization continued success in
future years; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commemorate the 90th Anniversary of Sacred Heart School of Bayside,
Queens; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Principal Dennis Farrell, Sacred Heart School of Bayside.
