LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commending VIP Community Services for its 41 year
commitment to transforming the Bronx community

WHEREAS, Individuals and organizations devoted to improving the quality
of life for others, enabling them to build lives of dignity and self-
worth are deserving of the highest praise and recognition; and
WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to recognize that
the quality and character of life in the communities across New York
State are reflective of the concerned and dedicated efforts of those
organizations and individuals who would devote themselves to the welfare
of the community and its citizenry; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to commend
VIP Community Services for its 41 year commitment to transforming the
Bronx community; and
WHEREAS, For the past 41 years, VIP Community Services has worked to
aid in the recovery process of people who struggle with addiction; and
WHEREAS, Since its inception, this remarkable organization has
provided a wide variety of services including behavioral health services
treatment programs, healthcare, vocational programs, and housing facili-
ties; and
WHEREAS, VIP Community Services has also provided mental health
services to the community, affordable housing for families, as well as
supportive housing; and
WHEREAS, Today, VIP Community Services remains steadfast in its
commitment to serving people of all ages, races, faiths, backgrounds,
incomes and abilities as it strives to fulfill the changing needs of its
community for many years to come; and
WHEREAS, The success of VIP Community Services is in direct corre-
lation to the efforts of its staff, whose involvement is, and always has
been, characterized by an impressive commitment, an unbridled enthusi-
asm, and an uncompromising standard of excellence in all endeavors on
behalf of this institution and the community it serves; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when organiza-
tions of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our atten-
tion, they should be celebrated and recognized by all the citizens of
this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend VIP Community Services for its 41 year commitment to transform-
ing the Bronx community; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to VIP Community Services.
