LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commending the Billion Dollar Roundtable for its
outstanding work on behalf of the community's minority and women-owned
businesses

WHEREAS, A great community is only as great as those persons and organ-
izations that provide exemplary service, whether through participation
in voluntary programs, through unique personal achievement in their
profession or other endeavors, or simply through a lifetime of good
citizenship; and
WHEREAS, It is incumbent upon the people of the State of New York to
recognize and acknowledge those within our midst who have made signif-
icant contributions to the quality of life therein; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to commend
the Billion Dollar Roundtable for its outstanding work on behalf of the
community's minority and women-owned businesses; and
WHEREAS, The Billion Dollar Roundtable recognizes companies which
spend over one billion dollars with minority and women-owned suppliers
on an annual basis; and
WHEREAS, The Billion Dollar Roundtable vigorously supports its mission
of providing supplier diversity excellence through best practice sharing
and through lending; and
WHEREAS, For the past 14 years, this remarkable organization has dili-
gently worked on behalf of minority and women-owned businesses, helped
foster diversity, and partnered with numerous advocacy organizations to
support such established and rising entrepreneurs in the community; and
WHEREAS, Today, the Billion Dollar Roundtable continues to induct new
members and encourage businesses to realize the benefits and values of
promoting supplier diversity and increasing opportunity for all; and
WHEREAS, The success of the Billion Dollar Roundtable is in direct
correlation to the efforts of its members, whose involvement is, and
always has been, characterized by an impressive commitment, an unbridled
enthusiasm, and an uncompromising standard of excellence in all endeav-
ors on behalf of this organization and the urban professional community
it proudly serves; and
WHEREAS, The Billion Dollar Roundtable distinguished record merits the
recognition and respectful tribute of this Legislative Body; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that those who
enhance the quality of life in their community and have shown a long and
sustained commitment to enhancing diversity, certainly have earned the
recognition and applause of all the citizens of this great Empire State;
now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend the Billion Dollar Roundtable for its outstanding work on behalf
of the community's minority and women-owned businesses everywhere; and
be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to the Billion Dollar Roundtable.
