LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION congratulating Lifecare Medical Associates, PC,
upon the occasion of being named the 2015 Business of the Year by the
Seneca County Chamber of Commerce

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize the
achievements of those individuals and businesses which substantially
contribute to the economic vitality of their communities and the entire
Empire State; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to congratu-
late Lifecare Medical Associates, PC and Dr. Timothy J. Ryan upon the
occasion of being named the 2015 Business of the Year by the Seneca
County Chamber of Commerce to be celebrated at its Annual Dinner on
Friday, January 22, 2016, at the Waterloo-Seneca Falls Holiday Inn in
Waterloo, New York; and
WHEREAS, Founded in 1979, Lifecare Medical Associates, PC is a health-
care concept conceived by Dr. Timothy J. Ryan based on the philosophy
that patients deserve convenient, comprehensive treatment provided by
professionals who truly care about those whom they serve; and
WHEREAS, As a result of Dr. Timothy J. Ryan's dedication and enthusi-
asm, as well as his dedicated staff, Lifecare Medical Associates, PC has
helped many innovative ideas and dreams become a reality, by providing
essential medical care to thousands; and
WHEREAS, A native of Geneva, New York, Timothy J. Ryan is a graduate
of Hobart College and Dartmouth Medical School; he received his Medical
Doctorate from the University of Minnesota, and completed his family
practice residency at St. Joseph's Hospital in Syracuse, where he served
as Chief Resident; and
WHEREAS, Dedicated to serving the needs of the residents of Seneca
County and the Central Finger Lakes, Dr. Timothy J. Ryan specializes in
all aspects of family medicine including pediatrics and geriatrics; he
is also an occupational health certified medical review officer; and
WHEREAS, Under Dr. Timothy J. Ryan's able leadership, Lifecare Medical
Associates, PC has, for over 25 years, provided exceptional health
services to residents of the Finger Lakes with experienced physicians
and state-of-the-art medical technology in a variety of fields; and
WHEREAS, In addition to his duties as Director, Dr. Timothy J. Ryan
has devoted much of his life to medical education; currently, he is an
Associate Clinical Professor in the Department of Family Medicine at
both the SUNY Health Science Center in Syracuse and the University of
Rochester School of Medicine; and
WHEREAS, Moreover, Dr. Timothy J. Ryan is one of the charter precep-
tors for the nationally acclaimed SUNY Rural Medicine Education Program,
and Founder of the annual LIFECARE conference which has provided contin-
uing medical education for health professionals for over two decades;
and
WHEREAS, A vital part of the Western New York health care community,
Dr. Timothy J. Ryan serves as the Medical Director for the local school
systems, the Seneca County Department of Health, and Seneca Rehabili-
tation and Skilled Nursing Facility; he is also the former Chairman of
the Finger Lakes Regional Health System's Department of Family Medicine,
and the former President of the Seneca County Medical Society; and
WHEREAS, Dr. Timothy J. Ryan has been called upon to contribute his
time and talents to countless civic and charitable endeavors and has
always given of himself unstintingly; he is a past President of the
Geneva Scholarship Associates and a past member of the American Cancer

Society, as well as a longtime diplomat of the American Academy of Fami-
ly Physicians; and
WHEREAS, Furthermore, this remarkable physician has been a Rotarian
since 1979, and President of the organization since 1991; his efforts
were instrumental in initiating such programs as the first fire safety
trailer in the Finger Lakes and the annual Rotary Health Fair; and
WHEREAS, The recipient of numerous awards and accolades for his
outstanding service to the community, Dr. Timothy J. Ryan has been named
New York State Family Practice Educator of the Year and was honored by
the Rotary Foundation for his continued support of "Polio Plus"; and
WHEREAS, With him throughout have been his wife, Wendy, and two daugh-
ters, Kate Austin and Emily Markel, as well as five grandchildren,
Rowan, Reese, Conley, Hadley, and Quinn, all of whom feel privileged to
be a part of his life and rejoice in his achievements; and
WHEREAS, Throughout the entire period of his community service, a
period of constructive involvement, Dr. Timothy J. Ryan has stood
constant in dignity, good grace and humor; and
WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by an individ-
ual for the benefit of others which Dr. Timothy J. Ryan has displayed
throughout his life; and
WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body that when busi-
nesses and individuals of such noble aims and accomplishments are
brought to our attention, they should be recognized by all the citizens
of this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
congratulate Lifecare Medical Associates, PC upon the occasion being
named the 2015 Business of the Year by the Seneca County Chamber of
Commerce; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Dr. Timothy Ryan, Lifecare Medical Associates, PC.
