LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Thomas C. Vasile upon the occasion of
his designation as recipient of the 2015 Volunteer of the Year Award by
Happiness House

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to acknowledge
outstanding individuals whose professional lives, personal endeavors and
community service are an example and inspiration to their colleagues,
friends, and family; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Thomas C. Vasile upon the occasion of his designation as recipient of
the 2015 Volunteer of the Year Award by Happiness House at its 12th
Annual Gala Dinner and Auction Event, to be held on Friday, February 6,
2015, at Belhurst Castle, Geneva, New York; and
WHEREAS, Given annually, this auspicious award is presented to indi-
viduals who have dedicated their time and serve as advocates on behalf
of people with developmental disabilities, Thomas C. Vasile's outstand-
ing contributions and accomplishments are consistent with the mission
and vision of Happiness House; and
WHEREAS, Born in 1949, Thomas C. Vasile was raised by his loving
parents, Sam and Mary Ann Pisciotti Vasile, in Auburn, New York; and
WHEREAS, At a very young age, Thomas C. Vasile, along with his broth-
er, Samuel, began to learn the skills needed to manage the family's
beverage business, Finger Lakes Bottling Co. Inc.; together, the broth-
ers ran the business until it was sold in 2012; and
WHEREAS, Thomas C. Vasile and his company were the annual Founding and
Major Sponsor of The Francis "Ben" Bonafiglia Happiness House Golf Tour-
nament for 28 years; and
WHEREAS, Thomas C. Vasile is an ardent Syracuse University football
and basketball fan; and
WHEREAS, With him throughout have been his wife of 42 years, Karen,
and his two children, Beth Ann and Tom Jr., as well as his grandchil-
dren, John, Ben, and Gabriella, all of whom feel privileged to be a part
of his life and rejoice in his achievements; and
WHEREAS, Throughout the entire period of his professional and communi-
ty service, a period of constructive involvement, Thomas C. Vasile has
stood constant in dignity, good grace and humor, and has earned the
respect and admiration of his family, friends, and community at large;
and
WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by individuals
for the benefit of others which Thomas C. Vasile has displayed through-
out his life; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Thomas C. Vasile upon the occasion of his designation as recipient
of the 2015 Volunteer of the Year Award by Happiness House; and be it
further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Thomas C. Vasile.
