Assembly Resolution No. 524

IN relation to the election and seating of
Christine Pellegrino as a Member of the Assembly
from the 9th Assembly District
WHEREAS, There is a vacancy existing in the membership of this
House, which was filled at a special election held on May 23, 2017; and
WHEREAS, The final official canvass of the votes cast at said
election and certification thereof of the person elected thereat, cannot
be made at this time; and
WHEREAS, The boards of elections of the counties of Nassau and
Suffolk have advised that the votes cast for the Office of Member of the
Assembly for the 9th Assembly District in the counties of Nassau and
Suffolk shown by its canvass were respectively as follows: Christine
Pellegrino, Democratic and Working Families, five thousand eight hundred
thirty-seven votes; and Thomas A. Gargiulo, Republican, Conservative and
Independence, four thousand three hundred forty votes; and
WHEREAS, It appears that the results of the votes cast in said
Assembly District cannot be affected by the final official canvass of
such votes; and
WHEREAS, Christine Pellegrino has duly taken an oath of office as a
Member of the Assembly; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That Christine Pellegrino, Democratic and Working
Families, is duly elected and qualified as a Member of the Assembly for
her respective district and that she be seated in this House as such
Member.
