HONORING Richard E. Feldman upon the occasion of
his designation for special recognition by The
Fortune Society on April 17, 2017
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that those who
enhance the quality of life in their community and have shown a long and
sustained commitment to the maintenance of high standards in their
profession, certainly have earned the recognition and applause of all
the citizens of this great Empire State; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Richard E. Feldman upon the occasion of his designation for special
recognition by The Fortune Society, to be celebrated at its Spring
Benefit, Celebrating the Power of Theater and Media to Transform Lives,
on Monday, April 17, 2017, at City Winery, New York, New York; and
WHEREAS, A native New Yorker born and raised in Jackson Heights,
Queens, Richard E. Feldman attended public schools before earning
degrees from both Queens College of the City University of New York and
Rutgers Law School; and
WHEREAS, Richard E. Feldman was a legal services attorney for many
years before being appointed as the Deputy Bureau Chief of the New York
State Attorney General's Office; and
WHEREAS, With a steadfast and unwavering commitment to the arts,
Richard E. Feldman serves as President of the SHS Foundation; his
visionary work has truly led this vital foundation, making a lasting
impression on the world of dance and facilitating the growth of its
dancers and choreographers; and
WHEREAS, It has always been the objective of this Legislative Body
to honor and support those individuals who have displayed their
commitment to the betterment of their communities, and it is the intent
of this Legislative Body to inscribe upon its records this tribute to
Richard E. Feldman, that future generations may know and appreciate his
admirable character, his many benevolent deeds, and the respect and
esteem in which he is held by his peers; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Richard E. Feldman upon the occasion of his designation for
special recognition by The Fortune Society on April 17, 2017; and be it
further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Richard E. Feldman.
