HONORING Salvatore B. Calabrese upon the occasion
of his designation as recipient of The Dr. Catherine
White Achievement Award by HeartShare Human Services
of New York

WHEREAS, Individuals who give of their time and energies and serve
the best interests of their communities are an asset beyond remuneration
and cannot be sufficiently extolled; and

WHEREAS, Salvatore B. Calabrese has given not only of his time and
energies but also of his competence, intelligence and leadership and
consequently has been designated for special honor; and

WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Salvatore B.
Calabrese upon the occasion of his designation as recipient of The Dr.
Catherine White Achievement Award by HeartShare Human Services of New
York to be celebrated at its Spring Gala and Auction on Thursday, March
30, 2017, at the New York Marriott Marquis in New York City, New York;
and

WHEREAS, Since 1914, HeartShare Human Services of New York has been
making a world of difference in its community as a nonprofit human
services agency dedicated to improving the lives of people in need of
special services and support by helping these individuals develop to
their fullest potential and lead meaningful and enriched lives in the
community; and

WHEREAS, A licensed Real Estate Broker, Salvatore B. Calabrese is
the co-owner of the remarkably successful real estate firm, Re/Max
Metro, which is ranked one of the top 500 Real Estate Firms in America,
as published in Real Trends in partnership with the Wall Street Journal;
and

WHEREAS, Salvatore B. Calabrese is known and respected for his
leadership and ability to provide both logical and productive direction
and purpose and is an active member of the Century 21 National Brokers
Council, the Realtors Political Action Committee, the Brooklyn Board of
Realtors and as past President and member of the Staten Island Board of
Realtors; and

WHEREAS, Currently, Salvatore B. Calabrese serves on the Board of
Directors of several professional and community organizations, including
The Brooklyn Board of Realtors and the Bay Ridge-Bensonhurst
Beautification Corporation; additionally, he is the Secretary of the
HeartShare Human Services Board of Directors and is a past President and
member of the Board of Directors of the Bensonhurst-Bayridge Kiwanis
Foundation; and

WHEREAS, For his exceptional work in the community, Salvatore B.
Calabrese has been the recipient of numerous awards and accolades
including the Man of the Year Award by the Bay Ridge Center for Older
Adults, Man of the Year Award by the Federation of Italian-Americans and
the Victor V. Allegretti Memorial Man of the Year Award by the American

Legion Kings County Youth Recreational Facility, Inc. as well as various
honors from many other nonprofit community-oriented organizations; and

WHEREAS, With him throughout have been his wife, Leona and their
three children, Daniel, Joseph and Kimberly, all of whom feel privileged
to be a part of his life and rejoice in his achievements; and

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that those who
enhance the well-being and vitality of their community and have shown a
long and sustained commitment to excellence certainly have earned the
recognition and applause of all the citizens of this great Empire State;
now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Salvatore B. Calabrese upon the occasion of his designation as
recipient of The Dr. Catherine White Achievement Award by HeartShare
Human Services of New York; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Salvatore B. Calabrese.
