HONORING Orange & Rockland Utilities, Inc. upon
the occasion of its designation for special
recognition by the Rockland Community Foundation on
March 30, 2017

WHEREAS, It is incumbent upon the people of the State of New York to
recognize and acknowledge those within our midst who have made
significant contributions to the quality of life therein; and

WHEREAS, From time to time this Legislative Body takes note of
certain extraordinary individuals and businesses it wishes to recognize
for their valued contributions to the success and progress of society
and publicly acknowledge their endeavors which have enhanced the basic
humanity among us all; and

WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Orange &
Rockland Utilities, Inc. upon the occasion of its designation for
special recognition by the Rockland Community Foundation, to be
celebrated at its Annual Signature Gala on Thursday, March 30, 2017, at
the Hudson Water Club, West Haverstraw, New York; and

WHEREAS, Orange & Rockland Utilities, Inc. is bestowed this
auspicious honor in recognition of its values and commitment in
supporting the mission of the Rockland Community Foundation; and

WHEREAS, Orange & Rockland (O&R) adopted "doing well by doing good"
as one of its guiding corporate leadership principles many years ago;
since that time, O&R has put those words into action through its strong
support for community-based programs that make Rockland a stronger, more
vibrant and successful community; and

WHEREAS, Under the luminous direction of its Manager of Strategic
Partnerships Linda Feger, Orange & Rockland's rich culture of caring is
also supported by an employee base that has taken both ownership and
leadership of the company's corporate, charitable and civic donation
program; and

WHEREAS, With a steadfast and unwavering commitment to its
community, O&R employees give tirelessly of their time and energies to
such endeavors as ambulance driving, firefighting and Little League
coaching, as well as organizations such as United Way and the Rockland
Community Foundation; and

WHEREAS, In addition, O&R employees volunteer countless hours each
year to community-based efforts to save lives, protect property, teach
children and comfort the needy; and

WHEREAS, Over its distinguished history, Orange & Rockland has
demonstrated continuous service to the residents and communities which
it serves; and

WHEREAS, The success of Orange & Rockland is in direct correlation
to the efforts of its staff, whose involvement is, and always has been,

characterized by an impressive commitment, an unbridled enthusiasm, and
an uncompromising standard of excellence in all endeavors on behalf of
the business and the community it serves; and

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when
businesses of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our
attention, they should be recognized and applauded by all the citizens
of this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Orange & Rockland Utilities, Inc. upon the occasion of its
designation for special recognition by the Rockland Community Foundation
on March 30, 2017; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Orange & Rockland Utilities, Inc.
