Senate Resolution No. 1300

HONORING Kenneth J. Steier, D.O. upon the occasion
of his designation as recipient of the Leadership in
Education Award by the SUNY Orange Foundation

WHEREAS, It is the practice of this Legislative Body to take note of
and publicly acknowledge individuals of remarkable integrity and
character whose endeavors have enhanced the quality of education in this
great State; and

WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Kenneth J.
Steier, D.O. upon the occasion of his designation as recipient of the
Leadership in Education Award by the SUNY Orange Foundation, to be
celebrated at its Leadership Awards Ceremony on Wednesday, April 5,
2017, at Kaplan Hall, Newburgh, New York; and

WHEREAS, The Dean of Touro College of Osteopathic Medicine, Kenneth
J. Steier serves as a caring, competent and committed leader, whose
character and integrity are the hallmarks of his life and work as an
educational leader, a community volunteer and as a person; and

WHEREAS, The result of many individual efforts, the excellence and
the success of Touro College of Osteopathic Medicine is due in large
part to the efforts of Kenneth J. Steier; and

WHEREAS, The Middletown, New York, community is indeed fortunate and
blessed to have such a dedicated and respected educational leader; his
wisdom and contributions truly make a difference in the lives of those
lucky enough to work with him; and

WHEREAS, A significant contributor to education in New York State,
Kenneth J. Steier has continually demonstrated an impressive dedication,
an unparalleled devotion and an unremitting enthusiasm for the quality
of the educational programs and opportunities offered at Touro College
of Osteopathic Medicine for the benefit of its faculty and students, as
well as for the entire community; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Kenneth J. Steier, D.O. upon the occasion of his designation as
recipient of the Leadership in Education Award by the SUNY Orange
Foundation; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Kenneth J. Steier, D.O.
