Senate Resolution No. 1357

COMMENDING James G. Reilly, D.O. upon the occasion
of his designation for special honor at Doctor's
Recognition Day on March 29, 2017
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize that
the quality of life in the communities across this great State of New
York is enriched by the diligence and compassionate commitment of those
individuals whose singular purpose is the care and welfare of others;
and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to
commend James G. Reilly, D.O. upon the occasion of his designation for
special honor by the Medical Society of the County of Kings, Inc., the
Academy of Medicine of Brooklyn and the Richmond County Medical Society,
to be celebrated at its Doctor's Recognition Day on Wednesday, March 29,
2017, at Gargiulo's Restaurant, Brooklyn, New York; and
WHEREAS, A double-board certified OB/GYN, Dr. James G. Reilly has
been practicing in Staten Island for more than 20 years; and
WHEREAS, Throughout his illustrious career, Dr. James G. Reilly has
delivered over 4,000 babies and looks forward to continuing to provide
the best care to the women in the community; and
WHEREAS, James G. Reilly graduated from New York College of
Osteopathic Medicine (NYCOM) in 1991, and completed a rotating
internship at Brookdale Hospital as well as a four-year residency at St.
Vincent's Medical Center of Staten Island; and
WHEREAS, In addition, he participated in a fellowship in GYN
Oncology at Memorial Sloan Kettering Hospital (MSKCC); and
WHEREAS, Dr. James G. Reilly has previously served as Chairman of
the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Trinitas Regional Medical
Center in Elizabeth, New Jersey; he was also the 207th President of the
Richmond County Medical Society which was founded in 1806; and
WHEREAS, Today, Dr. James G. Reilly plays an active role in
mentoring the residents and medical students at Richmond University
Medical Center, and currently serves as the Chairman of the Medical
Liability Committee (RCMS); and
WHEREAS, Furthermore, this esteemed man has been listed as a "Top
Doctor" for the past 15 consecutive years in the well-known publication,
Castle & Connelly; and
WHEREAS, In the faithful performance of his duties and
responsibilities, Dr. James G. Reilly's ongoing efforts and notable
achievements have significantly contributed to bettering the quality of
life in his community; and
WHEREAS, Throughout his tenure, Dr. James G. Reilly has continuously
displayed initiative and an unrelenting commitment when pursuing the
highest of goals, and he has served as a role model of leadership to be
emulated by all; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend James G. Reilly, D.O. upon the occasion of his designation for
special honor at Doctor's Recognition Day on March 29, 2017; and be it
further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to James G. Reilly, D.O.
