COMMEMORATING the 30th Anniversary of Leadership
Buffalo

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize that
the quality and character of life in the communities across New York
State are reflective of the concerned and dedicated efforts of those
organizations and individuals that are devoted to the welfare of the
community and its citizenry; and

WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to
commemorate the 30th Anniversary of Leadership Buffalo; and

WHEREAS, Founded on the idea of equality, Leadership Buffalo unites
leaders from diverse backgrounds to increase their knowledge of
community issues, broaden their vision and enhance their ability to
lead; and

WHEREAS, With more than 2,500 individuals from a variety of
programs, Leadership Buffalo has greatly expanded Western New York's
social capital; and

WHEREAS, Through a series of day sessions, Leadership Buffalo allows
participants to explore the challenges, concepts, complexity and
practice of leadership concerning various important issues; these
programs include Class Experience, Rising Leaders, Experience Buffalo,
Youth Leadership, and Leadership Buffalo Revisited; and

WHEREAS, Class Experience is a program designed for individuals from
corporations, small and entrepreneurial businesses, civic and community
organizations and non-profits who are currently serving in a leadership
role; and

WHEREAS, Rising Leaders is a program designed for individuals from
corporations, small and entrepreneurial businesses, civic and community
organizations and non-profits who are up and coming in their careers;
and

WHEREAS, Experience Buffalo is designed to introduce relocating
senior executives and their partner or spouse to the Buffalo/Niagara
Region; and

WHEREAS, Youth Leadership is a 10-month long leadership enrichment
program for high school sophomores, juniors and seniors representing
schools throughout Erie County; and

WHEREAS, Leadership Buffalo Revisited is a program which offers a
chance for graduates to once again be part of the Leadership Buffalo
Experience affording the backstage pass to all that is happening in
Buffalo today; and

WHEREAS, Over its distinguished 30 year history, Leadership Buffalo
has demonstrated continuous service to the residents and communities in

which it serves; this auspicious occasion presents an opportunity for
this Legislative Body to recognize and pay tribute to this vital
organization; and

WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body that when
organizations of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our
attention, they should be recognized and applauded by all the citizens
of this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commemorate the 30th Anniversary of Leadership Buffalo; and be it
further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Leadership Buffalo.
