Senate Resolution No. 1708

COMMENDING Otisville Little League upon the
occasion of its 60th season to be celebrated Opening
Day on April 22, 2017

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to honor those
enduring organizations which faithfully devote their resources and
purposeful energies to fostering opportunities and contributing to the
quality of life for the youth of the communities they serve; and

WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to
commend Otisville Little League upon the occasion of its 60th season to
be celebrated Opening Day on April 22, 2017; and

WHEREAS, A traditional American institution, Little League provides
a structure for the athletic competition which enhances the moral and
physical development of the young people of this State, preparing them
for the future by establishing the value of teamwork, encouraging a
standard of healthy living, instilling an ambition for success, and
developing a sense of fair play and competition; and

WHEREAS, Established in 1958, today Otisville Little League is under
the outstanding leadership of President James Cody; and

WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to call attention
to organizations such as Otisville Little League which serve to bring
people together for a united purpose and serve the recreational needs of
the youth of the community; and

WHEREAS, This milestone anniversary presents an opportunity for this
Legislative Body to recognize and pay just tribute to Otisville Little
League; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend Otisville Little League upon the occasion of its 60th season to
be celebrated Opening Day on April 22, 2017; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to James Cody, President, Otisville Little League.
