CONGRATULATING B. Elizabeth Forsyth upon the
occasion of celebrating her 100th Birthday on
November 30, 2016
WHEREAS, Senior citizens bring a wealth of experience and knowledge
to the increasingly active roles they play in today's society; their
past contributions and future participation are a vital part of, and
valuable asset to, the fabric of community life and activity; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to congratulate B.
Elizabeth Forsyth upon the occasion of celebrating her 100th Birthday;
and
WHEREAS, B. Elizabeth Forsyth was born on November 30, 1916, and
resides in Oswego, New York; and
WHEREAS, B. Elizabeth Forsyth is a graduate of Oswego High School
and a longtime member of St. Mary of the Assumption Church in Oswego,
New York; and
WHEREAS, B. Elizabeth was married to the late Frederick Neil Forsyth
and together they were the proud parents of three children, Donald,
Virginia, and the late John; and
WHEREAS, Today, B. Elizabeth Forsyth is the loving grandmother of
six grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and two great-great
grandchildren; and
WHEREAS, B. Elizabeth Forsyth was a homemaker who devoted herself to
making a loving home for her family; she was also very active as a
volunteer with both the Girl Scouts of America and the Cub Scouts; and
WHEREAS, Furthermore, B. Elizabeth Forsyth served as a member and
officer of the Oswego Branch of the Coast Guard Auxiliary; and
WHEREAS, Throughout her life, B. Elizabeth Forsyth was an avid
traveler visiting many parts of the United States and eastern Canada as
well as Spain, Gibraltar and Morocco; and
WHEREAS, B. Elizabeth Forsyth has inspired her family with her
strength and beauty and they look forward to celebrating many more
birthdays with her; and
WHEREAS, This distinguished woman, who has experienced the
incredible joys and sorrows characteristic of and reserved for those
with the stamina and courage to savor a full life, has inspired the
lives of her many friends and family; and
WHEREAS, B. Elizabeth Forsyth has enriched the lives of those around
her through her joyous and sincere love for life and through the
quiescent charm and wisdom which comes only from a fullness of years;
and
WHEREAS, It is the intent of this Legislative Body to publicly
recognize those who have reached such a remarkable age and who have
witnessed and celebrated the innovations, cultural developments and
awesome achievements of this country during the last century, while
themselves contributing to the growth and excellence of this great
Empire State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
congratulate B. Elizabeth Forsyth upon the occasion of celebrating her
100th Birthday; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to B. Elizabeth Forsyth.
