COMMENDING Tammy Martinez upon the occasion of her
retirement after 37 years of distinguished service
to the Saratoga County Sheriff's Department

WHEREAS, This Legislative Body seeks to acknowledge those
individuals whose professional lives and civic endeavors serve to
enhance the stature of the State of New York; and

WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to commend Tammy
Martinez upon the occasion of her retirement after 37 years of
distinguished service to the Saratoga County Sheriff's Department to be
celebrated at a party held in her honor on Thursday, May 11, 2017, at
The Factory in Ballston Spa, New York; and

WHEREAS, Born and raised in Ballston Spa, Tammy Martinez graduated
from Ballston Spa High School in 1979; shortly after graduation, she
started her long and distinguished career at the Saratoga County
Sheriff's Department; and

WHEREAS, For the past 37 years, Tammy Martinez rendered faithful,
conscientious and valuable service to the Saratoga County Sheriff's
Department; she has truly enjoyed working with Sheriff James Bowen for
33 years, and Sheriff Mike Zurlo for four years; and

WHEREAS, In her capacity as Secretary, Tammy Martinez served with
loyalty, honor and distinction; in her official acts, she was governed
by a keen sense of duty and always showed a unique grasp of human
problems; and

WHEREAS, During her tenure with Saratoga County Sheriff's
Department, Tammy Martinez earned the admiration, esteem and affection
of her colleagues; she will be greatly missed by her colleagues and
friends at the Department; and

WHEREAS, In her much deserved retirement, Tammy Martinez plans on
spending more time with her family, and search for teddy bears at local
garage sales; and

WHEREAS, With her throughout have been her two sons, Richard and
Michael, and her brother, Scott E. Kerns, all of whom have shown her
love and support and rejoice in her many achievements; and

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that those who
enhance the quality of life in their community and have shown a long and
sustained commitment to the maintenance of high standards in their
profession, certainly have earned the recognition and applause of all
the citizens of this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend Tammy Martinez upon the occasion of her retirement after 37
years of distinguished service to the Saratoga County Sheriff's
Department, and to wish her much happiness and good health; and be it
further


RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Tammy Martinez.
