COMMENDING Reilly's Dairy, Inc. upon the occasion
of celebrating its 40th Anniversary on June 3, 2017
WHEREAS, Within each community of this great State of New York there
are certain businesses that define the nature of the region and the
people who inhabit it; and
WHEREAS, Such is true of Reilly's Dairy, located on Pinnacle Road in
the hamlet of Sauquoit, New York, which has proudly provided milk and
grocery products, as well as employment for residents in Oneida County
for four prosperous decades; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to
commend Reilly's Dairy, Inc. upon the occasion of its 40th Anniversary
to be celebrated at a Party at the store on Saturday, June 3, 2017; and
WHEREAS, Richard and Kathy Reilly opened Reilly's Dairy on June 4,
1977; from its humble beginnings selling dairy products, the convenience
store has grown to include gas pumps, a carwash, a deli, redemption
center, and self-storage; in 2004, the original building was replaced
with a larger store to meet the growing demand; and
WHEREAS, Even though there have been many changes since its
inception, the Reilly family still owns and operates the business,
proving to be an exception in a world of franchises and corporate
ownership; today, Richard Reilly and his daughter, Bethany, manage the
day-to-day store operations; and
WHEREAS, After 40 years of business, Reilly's Dairy remains an
important economic force in Sauquoit, employing 22 full- and part-time
employees, and serving as a one-stop-shop for groceries, beverages,
gasoline, New York Lottery, fresh-made subs, baked goods and much more;
and
WHEREAS, Dedicated to its community, Reilly's Dairy has graciously
donated to numerous fundraisers for local school groups and
organizations; and
WHEREAS, For 40 years Reilly's Dairy, Inc. has stood as a beloved
establishment which has provided a friendly, open environment for
patrons to shop and meet with their neighbors; Richard and Bethany
always greeted each and every one of their customers with a smile,
making them feel like family; and
WHEREAS, Since opening its doors, the owners and employees of
Reilly's Dairy have brought an uncommon sense of quality and spirit to
the community, providing Sauquoit and Oneida County not only with
quality products, but with good old-fashioned memories; and
WHEREAS, It is with great pleasure that this Legislative Body
acknowledge this exceptional small business and its contributions to the
local economy; and be it further
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend Reilly's Dairy, Inc. upon the occasion of celebrating its 40th
Anniversary on June 3, 2017; and be it further
RESOLVED, That copies of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Bethany Reilly and Richard Reilly.
