COMMENDING Holy Martyrs Armenian Day School of
Bayside, New York, upon the occasion of its 50th
Anniversary
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize and
commend those institutions of commitment and high achievement whose
purpose and endeavor have been dedicated to the pursuit of excellence in
the education of the youth of this noble Empire State; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to
commend Holy Martyrs Armenian Day School of Bayside, New York, upon the
occasion of its 50th Anniversary, to be celebrated at its 23rd
Anniversary Gala Dinner Dance on Saturday, June 3, 2017, at North Hills
Country Club in Manhasset, New York; and
WHEREAS, Since its inception in 1967, Holy Martyrs Armenian Day
School has grown from the Hye Bardez Nursery School into an elementary
school servicing students from nursery through sixth grade; and
WHEREAS, Under the luminous leadership of Principal Zarmine
Boghosian, Holy Martyrs Armenian Day School combines the best elements
of American education with an emphasis on Armenian language and culture;
and
WHEREAS, Through Holy Martyrs Armenian Day School's curriculum,
students explore their rich heritage through literature, history, music
and dance while instilling values that will strengthen them as they grow
into adulthood; and
WHEREAS, With its dedicated teaching staff, Holy Martyrs Armenian
Day School strives towards new goals and a high standard of life; each
new generation of Armenians create an unbreakable bond not only with the
school, but with each other, allowing the legacy of nurturing minds and
character to continue; and
WHEREAS, Today, the alumni of Holy Martyrs Armenian Day School have
distinguished themselves in their secondary schools, colleges and
careers; since the first class of graduates in 1982, this auspicious
school has been honored by their numerous graduates continuing the
legacy of greatness that this school has instilled in them; and
WHEREAS, Through its long and sustained commitment to excellence in
educational endeavors, Holy Martyrs Armenian Day School has so clearly
advanced that spirit of united purpose and shared concern which is the
unalterable manifestation of our American experience; and
WHEREAS, The schools of a community mirror the character and values
of the society in which they function; the residents, Board of
Education, administration, faculty and students at Holy Martyrs Armenian
Day School may justifiably take great pride in its past achievements,
present recognition and legacy of excellence afforded to future
generations of the community; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend Holy Martyrs Armenian Day School of Bayside, New York, upon the
occasion of its 50th Anniversary, noting the proprietary of its goals,
the constancy of its commitment and the significance of its
accomplishments in preparing the youth of today and leaders of tomorrow;
and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Holy Martyrs Armenian Day School.
