COMMENDING Christine Verni, EdD, FNP-BC, APRN upon
the occasion of being named a 2017 Nurse of
Distinction in Education by Professional Nurses
Association of Western New York

WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to recognize and
pay tribute to those nurses from this great Empire State who have
distinguished themselves through professional excellence and have made
significant contributions to the quality of life of its citizenry; and

WHEREAS, This Legislative Body seeks to acknowledge those
individuals whose professional lives and civic endeavors serve to
enhance the stature of the State of New York; and

WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to
commend Christine Verni upon the occasion of being named a 2017 Nurse of
Distinction in Education by Professional Nurses Association of Western
New York; and

WHEREAS, For over 20 years, Christine Verni has been involved in the
nursing profession; she has served as a nurse practitioner in emergency
medicine for almost 10 years, and in pediatrics for over a decade; and

WHEREAS, Christine Verni earned both her Bachelor of Science degree
and Master of Science degree in Nursing from D'Youville College; and

WHEREAS, Always willing to help others and share her knowledge,
Christine Verni holds the title of Clinical Associate Professor at the
nursing school of her alma mater; in this capacity, she teaches in the
Family Nurse Practitioner Program as well as the undergraduate RN to BSN
Programs; and

WHEREAS, Dedicated to her profession, Christine Verni is a vital
member of several nursing organizations including the Sigma Theta Tau
Honor Society of Nursing, the American Nurses' Association, the Nurse
Practitioner Association of New York State, the National League for
Nursing, and the National Organization of Nurse Practitioner Faculties;
in 2009, she was named to the Biltmore Who's Who; and

WHEREAS, In addition to her practitioner roles, Christine Verni has
served as a Health Care Consultant for the Early Childhood Program at
the Jewish Community Center of Buffalo's Holland location; and

WHEREAS, Built upon the proud tradition of caring, the profession of
nursing is dedicated to implementing the best practices to deliver the
highest quality of care to those whom they serve; and

WHEREAS, These exceptional individuals, leaders in their profession,
make a difference in the lives of every one of their patients, as well
as the patients' family members they serve each and every day; they have
truly proven themselves to be great assets to the health and welfare of
the citizens of the State of New York; and


WHEREAS, A woman of true integrity, Christine Verni has served as a
Registered Nurse with distinction, enthusiasm, dedication and honor; for
almost four decades, she has rendered faithful, conscientious and
valuable service to Western New York, earning the admiration, esteem and
affection of her colleagues; and

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that those who
enhance the quality of life in their community and have shown a long and
sustained commitment to the maintenance of high standards in their
profession, certainly have earned the recognition and applause of all
the citizens of this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend Christine Verni, EdD, FNP-BC, APRN upon the occasion of being
named a 2017 Nurse of Distinction in Education by Professional Nurses
Association of Western New York; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Christine Verni, EdD, FNP-BC, APRN.
