HONORING Adrianna Espinal upon the occasion of her
designation as recipient of the Senior Scholar
Humanities Award by the Orange-Ulster BOCES on April
27, 2017

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to act, in accord
with its long-standing traditions, to honor the achievements of its
young citizens and leaders of tomorrow, whose character and
accomplishments exemplify the ideals and values cherished by this great
State and Nation; and

WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Adrianna
Espinal upon the occasion of her designation as recipient of the Senior
Scholar Humanities Award by the Orange-Ulster BOCES which was celebrated
at its Fourth Annual Awards Breakfast, on Thursday, April 27, 2017, at
Kuhl's Highland House, Middletown, New York; and

WHEREAS, This auspicious award recognizes outstanding high school
students for their accomplishments and/or performances in the arts,
including fine arts, theater, and music; and

WHEREAS, Adrianna Espinal has distinguished herself as a young woman
of superlative ability, talent, and maturity, establishing standards of
excellence and achievement, purposefulness of life, and responsibility
rarely achieved in youthful years; and

WHEREAS, A senior at Middletown High School, in Middletown, New
York, Adrianna Espinal will be attending New York University in New York
City, New York, this fall; she plans to major in International Relations
and Communications; and

WHEREAS, Adrianna Espinal is currently the Youth-in-Government
President, National Honor Society Secretary and head of Media in the
Senior Student Council; additionally, she is fifth in her class and will
be graduating with honors; and

WHEREAS, Throughout her high school career, Adrianna Espinal has
been the recipient of numerous Sojourner Truth Awards, school accolades,
scholastic art competition medals and earned one gold medal on a
national level; and

WHEREAS, As a member of the Youth-in-Government, Adrianna Espinal
has been honored as a district leader, a Commissioner in the Youth
Governors cabinet, a best bill writer and a Delegate selected for the
Conference on National Affairs; and

WHEREAS, An outstanding role model for her classmates, Adrianna
Espinal has brought honor to her family, school, and community; and

WHEREAS, Adrianna Espinal may stand with pride in her achievements,
experiencing the satisfaction of her labors and the joy of her
accomplishments, eager to face the challenge of new experiences as she
continues her education; and


WHEREAS, Adrianna Espinal represents the potential inherent in our
most precious resource, our youth; this Legislative Body is pleased to
honor this young woman, recognizing her achievements and the promise of
her future; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Adrianna Espinal upon the occasion of her designation as recipient
of the Senior Scholar Humanities Award by the Orange-Ulster BOCES, and
to wish her well in her future endeavors; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Adrianna Espinal.
