HONORING Hannah Ritz upon the occasion of her
designation as recipient of the Senior Scholar
Humanities Award by the Orange-Ulster BOCES on April
27, 2017
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to act, in accord
with its long-standing traditions, to honor the achievements of its
young citizens and leaders of tomorrow, whose character and
accomplishments exemplify the ideals and values cherished by this great
State and Nation; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Hannah Ritz
upon the occasion of her designation as recipient of the Senior Scholar
Humanities Award by the Orange-Ulster BOCES which was celebrated at its
Fourth Annual Awards Breakfast, on Thursday, April 27, 2017, at Kuhl's
Highland House, Middletown, New York; and
WHEREAS, This auspicious award recognizes outstanding high school
students for their accomplishments and/or performances in the arts,
including fine arts, theater, and music; and
WHEREAS, Hannah Ritz has distinguished herself as a young woman of
superlative ability, talent, and maturity, establishing standards of
excellence and achievement, purposefulness of life, and responsibility
rarely achieved in youthful years; and
WHEREAS, A senior at Goshen High School, in Goshen, New York, Hannah
Ritz will be attending the University of Vermont in Burlington, Vermont,
this fall; she plans to major in psychology and minor in music; and
WHEREAS, Hannah Ritz is currently Vice President and Violin 1
section leader of the Goshen High School Chamber Orchestra, as well as
the school's full orchestra; she is also a member of the World Language
Honor Society for both French and Latin as well as a member of the Honor
Society; and
WHEREAS, Throughout her high school career, Hannah Ritz has been
deeply involved in music; she has participated in the All-County Music
Festival and has performed in the Area-All State Music Festival; her
most noteworthy achievement was being chosen to play at the New York
State All-State Conference during her junior year of high school; and
WHEREAS, Dedicated to her community, Hannah Ritz volunteers for the
Leo Club and the Interact Club at Goshen High School; and
WHEREAS, An outstanding role model for her classmates, Hannah Ritz
has brought honor to her family, school, and community; and
WHEREAS, Hannah Ritz may stand with pride in her achievements,
experiencing the satisfaction of her labors and the joy of her
accomplishments, eager to face the challenge of new experiences as she
continues her education; and
WHEREAS, Hannah Ritz represents the potential inherent in our most
precious resource, our youth; this Legislative Body is pleased to honor
this young woman, recognizing her achievements and the promise of her
future; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Hannah Ritz upon the occasion of her designation as recipient of
the Senior Scholar Humanities Award by the Orange-Ulster BOCES, and to
wish her well in her future endeavors; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Hannah Ritz.
