CONGRATULATING the Panama High School Girls'
Volleyball Team upon the occasion of winning the
2016 New York State Class D Championship

WHEREAS, Excellence and success in competitive sports can only be
achieved through strenuous practice, team play, and team spirit,
nurtured by dedicated coaching and strategic planning; and

WHEREAS, It is the intent of this Legislative Body to recognize
those young people within our community, who, by achieving outstanding
success in athletic competitions, have inspired and brought pride to
their school district and community; and

WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to
congratulate the Panama High School Girls' Volleyball Team upon the
occasion of winning the 2016 New York State Class D Championship; and

WHEREAS, The Panama High School Girls' Volleyball Team successfully
won the Class D State Championship and completed a perfect season when
they defeated Section II's Argyle at the Glens Falls Civic Center on
Sunday, November 20, 2016; this is the first team State title win in the
history of Panama Central School; and

WHEREAS, Undefeated seasons always consist of a special group of
people who are extremely dedicated to the goal of being the very best
through practice and a steadfast commitment to team play; and

WHEREAS, In the finals, the Lady Panthers rallied to win the last
two games through a brilliant team effort; the entire team contributed
in many ways to make this one of the most memorable seasons and one for
the record books; and

WHEREAS, The athletic talent displayed by this team is due in great
part to the dedication and efforts of Head Coach Tammy Hosier and
Assistant Coach Amanda Yachetta; and

WHEREAS, The team's overall undefeated record is outstanding, and
the team members were loyally and enthusiastically supported by family,
fans, friends, and the entire community; and

WHEREAS, Athletically and academically, the team members have proven
themselves to be an unbeatable combination of talents, reflecting
favorably on their school; and

WHEREAS, It is the intent of this Legislative Body to publicly
recognize those high school athlete-scholars who have achieved notable
success in this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
congratulate the members of the Panama High School Girls' Volleyball
Team: Tara Sweeney, Madalyn Bowen, Elle Angeletti, Quinn Payne, Natalie
Angeletti, Maci Johnson, Alexys Marsh, Gillian Figueroa, Natalie Odell,

Marra Hovey, and Maddie Johnson; Head Coach Tammy Hosier and Assistant
Coach Amanda Yachetta on their outstanding season and overall team
record; and be it further

RESOLVED, That copies of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to the members of the Panama High School Girls' Volleyball
Team; Head Coach Tammy Hosier; and Assistant Coach Amanda Yachetta.
