HONORING Erin Clifford upon the occasion of her
designation for special recognition by the Orange
County Interscholastic Athletic Association as a
2017 Senior Scholar-Athlete

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to act, in accord
with its long-standing traditions, to honor the achievements of its
young citizens and leaders of tomorrow, whose character and
accomplishments exemplify the ideals and values cherished by this great
State and Nation; and

WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Erin
Clifford upon the occasion of her designation for special recognition by
the Orange County Interscholastic Athletic Association as a 2017 Senior
Scholar-Athlete; this momentous occasion was celebrated with a Breakfast
on Thursday, April 20, 2017, at Kuhl's Highland House, Middletown, New
York; and

WHEREAS, Academically and athletically, Erin Clifford has
distinguished herself as a young woman of superlative ability, talent,
and maturity, establishing standards of excellence and achievement,
purposefulness of life, and responsibility rarely achieved in youthful
years; and

WHEREAS, A student at Minisink High School, Erin Clifford has a
100.13 GPA and is a member of the National Honor Society, Varsity Club,
and Future Business Leaders of America; she has held the positions of
Class Vice President, and Class Treasurer; and

WHEREAS, Erin Clifford is also a member of the swimming and diving
team, where she holds the title of captain; an exceptional athlete, she
was named the Varsity845 Swimmer/Diver of the Year, and won the New York
State Diving Championship; and

WHEREAS, Dedicated to her community, Erin Clifford gives tirelessly
of her time and energies to volunteering at the Holy Cross Catholic
Church Good Pantry; she also serves as a math tutor; and

WHEREAS, Erin Clifford plans to major in pre-med biology at the
University of Connecticut on an athletic-academic scholarship; and

WHEREAS, An outstanding role model for her classmates, Erin Clifford
has brought honor to her family, school, and community; and

WHEREAS, Erin Clifford may stand with pride in her achievements,
experiencing the satisfaction of her labors and the joy of her
accomplishments, eager to face the challenge of new experiences as she
continues her education; and

WHEREAS, Erin Clifford represents the potential inherent in our most
precious resource, our youth; this Legislative Body is pleased to honor
this young woman, recognizing her achievements and the promise of her
future; now, therefore, be it


RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Erin Clifford upon the occasion of her designation for special
recognition by the Orange County Interscholastic Athletic Association as
a 2017 Senior Scholar-Athlete, and to wish her well in her future
endeavors; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Erin Clifford.
