HONORING Jack Wilson Golden upon the occasion of
his designation for special recognition by the
Orange County Interscholastic Athletic Association
as a 2017 Senior Scholar-Athlete

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to act, in accord
with its long-standing traditions, to honor the achievements of its
young citizens and leaders of tomorrow, whose character and
accomplishments exemplify the ideals and values cherished by this great
State and Nation; and

WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Jack Wilson
Golden upon the occasion of his designation for special recognition by
the Orange County Interscholastic Athletic Association as a 2017 Senior
Scholar-Athlete; this momentous occasion was celebrated with a Breakfast
on Thursday, April 20, 2017, at Kuhl's Highland House, Middletown, New
York; and

WHEREAS, Academically and athletically, Jack Wilson Golden has
distinguished himself as a young man of superlative ability, talent, and
maturity, establishing standards of excellence and achievement,
purposefulness of life, and responsibility rarely achieved in youthful
years; and

WHEREAS, A student at Minisink Valley High School, Jack Wilson
Golden has a 99.29 GPA; and

WHEREAS, Jack Wilson Golden is a member of the baseball team and the
swimming team, where he holds the title of co-captain; he also enjoys
tutoring his fellow students; and

WHEREAS, Dedicated to his community, Jack Wilson Golden gives
tirelessly of his time and energies to volunteering at various Kiwanis
activities such as the Corn Festival and its pancake breakfast; he also
works at the Minisink Veterans dinner and serves as a lifeguard; and

WHEREAS, Jack Wilson Golden plans to major in pre-law and political
science at either Binghamton University or Ithaca College this fall; and

WHEREAS, An outstanding role model for his classmates, Jack Wilson
Golden has brought honor to his family, school, and community; and

WHEREAS, Jack Wilson Golden may stand with pride in his
achievements, experiencing the satisfaction of his labors and the joy of
his accomplishments, eager to face the challenge of new experiences as
he continues his education; and

WHEREAS, Jack Wilson Golden represents the potential inherent in our
most precious resource, our youth; this Legislative Body is pleased to
honor this young man, recognizing his achievements and the promise of
his future; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Jack Wilson Golden upon the occasion of his designation for
special recognition by the Orange County Interscholastic Athletic
Association as a 2017 Senior Scholar-Athlete, and to wish him well in
his future endeavors; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Jack Wilson Golden.
