HONORING Maria Symanski upon the occasion of her
designation for special recognition by the Orange
County Interscholastic Athletic Association as a
2017 Senior Scholar-Athlete
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to act, in accord
with its long-standing traditions, to honor the achievements of its
young citizens and leaders of tomorrow, whose character and
accomplishments exemplify the ideals and values cherished by this great
State and Nation; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Maria
Symanski upon the occasion of her designation for special recognition by
the Orange County Interscholastic Athletic Association as a 2017 Senior
Scholar-Athlete; this momentous occasion was celebrated with a Breakfast
on Thursday, April 20, 2017, at Kuhl's Highland House, Middletown, New
York; and
WHEREAS, Academically and athletically, Maria Symanski has
distinguished herself as a young woman of superlative ability, talent,
and maturity, establishing standards of excellence and achievement,
purposefulness of life, and responsibility rarely achieved in youthful
years; and
WHEREAS, A student at Liberty High School, Maria Symanski has a
101.13 GPA and is a member of the National Honor Society, National Art
Honor Society, Student Government, Debate Club, Tri-M Music Honor
Society and Future Business Leaders of America; she is also a member of
the basketball, skiing and golf teams, as well as the captain of the
tennis team; and
WHEREAS, Dedicated to her community, Maria Symanski gives tirelessly
of her time and energies to volunteering at the Liberty Public Library;
she also serves as a peer tutor; and
WHEREAS, Maria Symanski plans to attend college to major in health
administration; and
WHEREAS, An outstanding role model for her classmates, Maria
Symanski has brought honor to her family, school, and community; and
WHEREAS, Maria Symanski may stand with pride in her achievements,
experiencing the satisfaction of her labors and the joy of her
accomplishments, eager to face the challenge of new experiences as she
continues her education; and
WHEREAS, Maria Symanski represents the potential inherent in our
most precious resource, our youth; this Legislative Body is pleased to
honor this young woman, recognizing her achievements and the promise of
her future; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Maria Symanski upon the occasion of her designation for special
recognition by the Orange County Interscholastic Athletic Association as
a 2017 Senior Scholar-Athlete, and to wish her well in her future
endeavors; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Maria Symanski.
