CONGRATULATING Sister M. dePaul Juliano, OSF upon
the occasion of celebrating her 60th Anniversary as
a Sister of St. Francis

WHEREAS, The character and richness of religious and community life
in this noble Empire State is nourished and fulfilled through the
faithful concern and selfless devotion of those who would commit their
energies and purpose to the ministry of others; and

WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to bring full
recognition and just tribute to those individuals and organizations
which distinguish themselves through their unremitting commitment and
service to humanity; and

WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to
congratulate Sister M. dePaul Juliano, OSF upon the occasion of
celebrating her 60th Anniversary as a Sister of St. Francis; and

WHEREAS, A graduate of St. Francis de Sales High School in Utica,
Sister M. dePaul Juliano entered the Franciscans in 1956; and

WHEREAS, Sister M. dePaul Juliano ministered in education for many
years; she served at St. Joseph Elementary in Camden, New Jersey; St.
Francis Elementary in Trenton, New Jersey; Our Lady of Angels Elementary
in Albany, New York; Assumption High School in Syracuse, New York; St.
Anthony High School in Long Beach, California, as vice principal,
science department chair, and teacher; Bishop Cunningham High School in
Oswego, New York, as vice principal and principal; Rome Catholic in
Rome, New York, as principal and area superintendent for the diocese;
and St. Augustine Regional School in Ocean City, New Jersey, as
principal; and

WHEREAS, Since 2008, Sister M. dePaul Juliano has been a pastoral
associate at St. Mary's and St. Peter's Churches in Rome, visiting
parishioners in nursing homes and hospitals and at home, and assisting
in the parish as needed; and

WHEREAS, Sister M. dePaul Juliano is a 2016 graduate of the
diocese's Formation for Ministry program, a past regional associate for
the National Catholic Educational Association, and certified by the
National Youth Sports Coaches Association; and

WHEREAS, Singular in distinction is Sister M. dePaul Juliano, whose
service to her church and her people, and her involvement in her
community mirror a commitment of compelling dimension; and

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when
individuals of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our
attention, they should be celebrated and recognized by all the citizens
of the great State of New York; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
congratulate Sister M. dePaul Juliano, OSF upon the occasion of
celebrating her 60th Anniversary as a Sister of St. Francis; and be it
further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Sister M. dePaul Juliano.
