HONORING Dr. Christopher McGinley upon the
occasion of his designation as recipient of the 2017
Leadership and Support Award by the School
Administrators Association of New York State
WHEREAS, New York State's commitment to education is unparalleled;
its history and stature are secured by the superlative caliber of its
educational professionals and the students they inspire; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to acknowledge the
distinguished careers of those outstanding educational leaders, whose
dedication and achievements have been instrumental in developing
character and academic excellence in the young people of New York State;
and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Dr. Christopher McGinley upon the occasion of his designation as
recipient of the 2017 Leadership and Support Award by the School
Administrators Association of New York State; and
WHEREAS, This auspicious occasion was celebrated at an Awards
Ceremony on Friday, May 5, 2017, at the Century House in Latham, New
York; and
WHEREAS, This award is given to an individual in recognition of
their outstanding leadership efforts, whose responsibilities require
leadership through support services to educators and students across and
between buildings and districts; and
WHEREAS, After receiving his Bachelor of Arts Degree, Master of
Business Administration and Master of Science Degree from Canisius
College, Dr. Christopher McGinley furthered his education by obtaining
his advanced certification from the University of Buffalo, in Buffalo,
New York; and
WHEREAS, Dr. Christopher McGinley is a trusted leader in the
community and a tireless advocate for students, supporter of parents,
and a promoter of professional development for teachers and other
administrators; and
WHEREAS, Dedicated to development opportunities, Dr. Christopher
McGinley routinely invites educators from local colleges and from
outside the district to professional development opportunities,
including regional math conferences; Common Core math institutes; a
support group centered around implementation of standards, best
practices, and assessment; as well as recurring parent math nights; and
WHEREAS, Highly regarded as a steadfast advocate for educators, Dr.
Christopher McGinley provides them with every possible valuable resource
to improve student learning; and
WHEREAS, Dr. Christopher McGinley was recognized by the United
States Congress in 2006, for his outstanding and invaluable service to
education, advising the New York State Education Department in the area
of mathematics, curriculum, and assessment by serving on the
commissioner's Content Advisory Panels, and has formed his own advisory
group in Western New York; and
WHEREAS, Educators like Dr. Christopher McGinley provide a
tremendous service to the future of our State and Nation, inspiring
generations of young people in their educational journeys and ensuring
their success in their future years; and
WHEREAS, Dr. Christopher McGinley has clearly had an enduring impact
on the youth of Williamsville CSD, as well as the community-at-large,
and accordingly merits recognition and applause for his impressive
dedication to others; and
WHEREAS, It is the practice of this Legislative Body to commend the
efforts of those individuals who work to support our proud tradition of
public education by providing their skills and talents to our schools;
now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Dr. Christopher McGinley upon the occasion of his designation as
recipient of the 2017 Leadership and Support Award by the School
Administrators Association of New York State; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Dr. Christopher McGinley.
