HONORING Police Records Clerk Fran Andriano upon
the occasion of her designation as recipient of the
Chief's Achievement Award by the Town of Bethlehem
WHEREAS, It is incumbent upon the people of the State of New York to
recognize and acknowledge those within our midst who have made
significant contributions to the quality of life therein; and
WHEREAS, From time to time this Legislative Body takes note of
certain extraordinary individuals it wishes to recognize for their
valued contributions to the success and progress of society and publicly
acknowledge their endeavors which have enhanced the basic humanity among
us all; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Police
Records Clerk Fran Andriano upon the occasion of her designation as
recipient of the Chief's Achievement Award by the Town of Bethlehem,
celebrated at a Ceremony on Thursday, May 11, 2017, at the Town of
Bethlehem Court, in Delmar, New York; and
WHEREAS, The Town of Bethlehem honored police department members for
outstanding service in recognition of Police Week in conjunction with
National Police Week; Fran Andriano was awarded for the safe return of a
fellow citizen; and
WHEREAS, The Chief's Achievement Award is presented for an act of
achievement by a member bringing public acclaim to the Department and
the police profession through programs to further police efficiency or
contributions to the welfare and advancement of the profession; and
WHEREAS, On March 24, 2016, Police Records Clerk Fran Andriano was
monitoring police calls on the radio when she heard a call about a
possible missing person with Alzheimer's Disease who was wandering the
side streets in Delmar, New York; and
WHEREAS, After work, Fran Andriano was running errands when she
observed the lost individual; she stopped to help the man and called
police communications; thanks to her attentiveness and willingness to
get involved, the civilian was returned to his family without injury or
incident; and
WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body that those
dedicated public servants who unselfishly devote their lives to the
preservation of order and the protection of others are worthy and due
full praise for their commitment and noble endeavors; now, therefore, be
it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Police Records Clerk Fran Andriano upon the occasion of her
designation as recipient of the Chief's Achievement Award by the Town of
Bethlehem; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Police Records Clerk Fran Andriano.
