COMMENDING Mississippi Mudds restaurant upon the
occasion of celebrating its 30th Anniversary on
August 4, 2017

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize
illustrious culinary establishments which have positively impacted and
substantially contributed to the vitality of their communities; and

WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to
commend Mississippi Mudds restaurant upon the occasion of celebrating
its 30th Anniversary; and

WHEREAS, This auspicious event will be celebrated at a Party in its
parking lot on Friday, August 4, 2017; customers and visitors can enjoy
live music, eat some hot dogs and ice cream, and drink a few soft
drinks; in addition, children can get their faces painted and watch a
magician perform his tricks; and

WHEREAS, Leading up to the anniversary party, Mississippi Mudds will
give away various prizes through social media; and

WHEREAS, Established by Tony Berrafato in 1987, Mississippi Mudds is
a family restaurant located at 313 Niagara Street in Tonawanda, New
York; overlooking Niawanda Park and the Niagara River, it has become a
popular summer destination for tourists and locals alike; and

WHEREAS, Mississippi Mudds offers a variety of high-quality menu
items, such as Sahlen's hot dogs, Mighty Mudd burgers, Italian sausage,
and grilled chicken sandwiches, as well as ice cream treats; one of its
specialty sides is Louisiana Sweet Fries, hand-cut sweet potato fries
drizzled with warm honey and butter; and

WHEREAS, During the summer season, the restaurant is staffed with
high school and college students from Tonawanda, North Tonawanda and
Grand Island; and

WHEREAS, Under the luminous leadership of Owner, Tony Berrafato, and
his brothers, Frank and Tom Berrafato, Mississippi Mudds has stood as a
beloved establishment which has provided a friendly, open environment
for patrons to collectively gather and enjoy the summer sun and breeze
from the nearby river; and

WHEREAS, It is with great pleasure that this Legislative Body
acknowledges this exceptional business and its contributions to the
local and State economies, fully confident that it will continue to
enjoy the sparkling successes it has experienced thus far; now,
therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend Mississippi Mudds restaurant upon the occasion of celebrating
its 30th Anniversary on August 4, 2017; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Tony Berrafato, Owner, Mississippi Mudds restaurant.
