HONORING Christine Turner upon the occasion of her
retirement as Vice President after 27 years of
distinguished service to the Herricks Public School
District Board of Education

WHEREAS, It is the practice of this Legislative Body to take note of
and publicly acknowledge individuals of remarkable integrity and
character whose endeavors have enhanced the quality of education in this
great State; and

WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Christine Turner upon the occasion of her retirement as Vice President
after 27 years of distinguished service to the Herricks Public School
District Board of Education; this momentous occasion will be celebrated
on Thursday, June 15, 2017, at the Herricks Community Center; and

WHEREAS, For the past 27 years, Christine Turner rendered faithful,
conscientious and valuable service to the Herricks Public School
District, earning the admiration, esteem and affection of her
colleagues; and

WHEREAS, In her capacity as Vice President, Christine Turner served
with loyalty, honor and distinction, and was governed by a keen sense of
duty and always showed a unique grasp of human problems in her official
acts; and

WHEREAS, Throughout her illustrious tenure, Christine Turner has
worked with four Superintendents and with 32 different members of the
Board of Education; in addition, she has been a Board Liaison for
various clubs and organizations; and

WHEREAS, Christine Turner has been a member of the Herricks
community for more than four decades; a wife, mother and long-standing
educator, she is a former PTA President and currently serves as a
Trustee of the Herricks Community Fund; and

WHEREAS, Christine Turner has continually demonstrated an impressive
dedication, an unparalleled devotion and an unremitting enthusiasm for
the quality of the educational programs and opportunities offered
throughout the Herricks Public School District for the benefit of its
faculty and students, as well as for the entire community; and

WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the occurrence of such a compassionate
blending of strength, leadership, intellect, and commitment as that
demonstrated by Christine Turner over a lifetime of sacrifice and
dedication to others; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Christine Turner upon the occasion of her retirement as Vice
President after 27 years of distinguished service to the Herricks Public
School District Board of Education; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Christine Turner.
