COMMENDING Joey Dubill upon the occasion of his
selection for the biennial National Association for
Music Education All-Eastern Music Festival

WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to recognize and
pay tribute to those young people within the great Empire State who have
made strong contributions to their communities and who serve as role
models for their peers; and

WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to
commend Joey Dubill upon the occasion of his selection for the biennial
National Association for Music Education All-Eastern Music Festival on
April 5-8, 2017, in Atlantic City, New Jersey; and

WHEREAS, A limited amount of candidates from New York State are
chosen each year for All-Eastern based on their auditions and
applications; students are chosen from 11 states, Washington D.C. and
Europe; and

WHEREAS, Joey Dubill, influenced by his father's passion for music,
has been involved in music since the second grade; and

WHEREAS, After being selected All-State through the New York State
School Music Association as both a Junior and a Senior, Joey Dubill
auditioned for All-Eastern on multiple instruments and became one of
only five Hamburg High School music department students to have been
selected in the past 20 years; and

WHEREAS, Senior Joey Dubill plays the drums in the Hamburg High
School Jazz Ensemble; he also performs in the Wind and Percussion
Ensembles and is a member of the Marching Band; and

WHEREAS, A well-rounded scholar, Joey Dubill partakes in competitive
hockey for the Buffalo Regals, West Seneca Wings and Hamburg Hawks as
well as Varsity Track and Field; additionally, he competed for the high
school's Science Club in the Annual Robotics Competition and
academically, finished in the Top 10 of his class; and

WHEREAS, Joey Dubill plans to attend the University at Buffalo and
major in chemical engineering; he will continue to perform musically in
some capacity; and

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to act, in accord
with its long-standing traditions, honoring the youth of today, and
leaders of tomorrow, whose character and achievements best exemplify the
ideals and values cherished by this great State and Nation; now,
therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend Joey Dubill upon the occasion of his selection for the biennial
National Association for Music Education All-Eastern Music Festival; and
be it further


RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Joey Dubill.
