HONORING the North Salem Varsity Baseball Team
upon the occasion of winning the Class C New York
State Championship

WHEREAS, The State of New York takes great pride in acknowledging
the outstanding achievements of its esteemed high school athletic teams;
and

WHEREAS, The North Salem Varsity Baseball Team will be honored as
Class C New York State Champions during the school's pep rally and Hall
of Fame induction ceremony on September 15, 2017; and

WHEREAS, The North Salem Varsity Baseball Team, led by Head Coach
Rob Gilchrist, Assistant Coaches Matt Mackenzie and John Veteri, and
Manager Grant Drachman; it consists of: Rian Balbino, William Baumler,
Matt Baviello, Camden Binette, Matthew Bond, Nathaniel Carminucci, Adam
Concadoro, Kevin Connolly, Shane Cotter, Joshua Coverdale, Anthony
D'Innocenzo, Jesse Fleming, Philip Foglia, JB Healy, Connor Mahoney,
Daniel Press, and Michael Puletz; and

WHEREAS, The North Salem Varsity Baseball Team claimed the Section 1
Class C Championship with a 7-2 victory over Tuckahoe at Dutchess
Stadium on May 27, 2017; and

WHEREAS, The North Salem Varsity Baseball Team went on to defeat
Avon on June 9, 2017, in the semi-final game played at Binghamton
University; the exciting game went into extra innings and was not over
until 9:00 pm; and

WHEREAS, Undeterred by their lack of rest, the North Salem Varsity
Baseball Team was strong for a 10:00 am final the next morning and
soundly defeated Potsdam by a score of 7-3, earning the school's second
consecutive State title; and

WHEREAS, The North Salem Varsity Baseball Team has inspired other
school athletic teams through its sportsmanship, teamwork, and athletic
ability; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor the North Salem Varsity Baseball Team upon winning the Class C New
York State Championship; and be it further

RESOLVED, That copies of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to the North Salem Varsity Baseball Team.
