HONORING Ann Marie Luhr upon the occasion of her
designation as recipient of the 2017 Mount St. Mary
Academy Alumna of the Year Award

WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to take note of
and publicly acknowledge individuals who have distinguished themselves
through their exemplary careers, accomplishments, and purposeful lives
of service to their community; and

WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Ann Marie Luhr upon the occasion of her designation as recipient of the
2017 Mount St. Mary Academy Alumna of the Year Award; this momentous
occasion was celebrated as part of Mount St. Mary Academy's 90th
Anniversary; and

WHEREAS, A 1980 graduate of Mount St. Mary Academy, Ann Marie Luhr
is being recognized with this esteemed award for her service to both the
school and community; and

WHEREAS, Ann Marie Luhr is a dedicated volunteer at Mount St. Mary
Academy, where she coaches the golf team, teaching newcomers to the
sport the fundamentals of play; she has also served as a member of the
board of trustees and was elected board president in 2008; and

WHEREAS, Furthermore, her leadership has extended to the school's
Chrysalis auction, where Ann Marie Luhr spearheaded gift-gathering
parties as well as donations and sponsorships; and

WHEREAS, For the past 20 years, Ann Marie Luhr has served as manager
of investor relations and corporate communications at Moog in East
Aurora; and

WHEREAS, Ann Marie Luhr is a graduate of Trinity College, where she
received her degree in economics; she later went on to pursue a Master's
degree in Business Administration in Finance and Marketing from the
Smith School of Business at the University of Maryland, College Park;
and

WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by an
individual for the benefit of others which Ann Marie Luhr has displayed
throughout her career; and

WHEREAS, It has always been the objective of this Legislative Body
to honor and support those individuals who have displayed their
commitment to the betterment of their communities, and it is the intent
of this Legislative Body to inscribe upon its records, this tribute to
Ann Marie Luhr, that future generations may know and appreciate her
admirable character, her many benevolent deeds, and the respect and
esteem in which she is held by her peers; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Ann Marie Luhr upon the occasion of her designation as recipient

of the 2017 Mount St. Mary Academy Alumna of the Year Award; and be it
further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Ann Marie Luhr.
