MOURNING the death of Timothy M. Neild, Captain in
the Army National Guard, distinguished citizen and
devoted member of his community

WHEREAS, Members of the Armed Services from the State of New York,
who have served so valiantly and honorably in wars in which this
country's freedom was at stake, as well as in the preservation of peace
in peacetime, deserve a special salute from this Legislative Body; and

WHEREAS, It is with feelings of deepest regret that this Legislative
Body mourns the death of Timothy M. Neild of Candor, New York, who died
on Monday, October 13, 2017, at the age of 37; and

WHEREAS, Timothy M. Neild graduated from Candor High School, Class
of 1998; he received his formal education from Delhi University and
Binghamton University for Carpentry and Mechanical Engineering; and

WHEREAS, An Afghanistan veteran, Timothy M. Neild was the recipient
of a Bronze Star for his valiant military service; and

WHEREAS, Timothy M. Neild was a Captain in the Army National Guard
in the 27th Brigade in Syracuse, New York; he completed his military
training at Sapper School; in addition, he was an active member of the
Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 1371, and a member of the honor guard;
and

WHEREAS, Predeceased by his grandfather, William Standinger, Jr.,
Timothy M. Neild is survived by his wife, Sha-la Neild; parents, Rick
and Wendy Neild; daughter, Catherine Neild; step-son, David Tyner, II;
sisters, Aubrey (Eric) Lang, Rachel (James) Conklin; brother, Sean
Cook-Neild; maternal grandmother, Florence Sawyer; paternal grandmother,
Jean (Vaughn) Neild; special uncle, Bill (Debra) Standinger III; niece,
Shawna; nephews, Brodie and Liam; and canine companion, Tucker Wucker
Snuggle Bear; as well as several other extended family members and
friends; and

WHEREAS, Individuals, such as Timothy M. Neild, who dedicated their
lives to military service merit the commendation and applause of all
citizens for their commitment to the preservation of American freedom;
and

WHEREAS, Armed with a humanistic spirit and imbued with a sense of
compassion, Timothy M. Neild leaves behind a legacy which will long
endure the passage of time and his memory will remain in the hearts of
all those who had the honor of knowing him; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
mourn the death of Timothy M. Neild, and to express its deepest
condolences to his family; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to the family of Timothy M. Neild.
